Quite basic, but clean enough. Very old-fashioned furniture and decor but quite quaint for that. Tiny, tiny shower - have no idea how anyone carrying even a little extra weight would get in it. Window in bathroom was not fully obscured, so felt that, particularly with the light on, I was on-show. We had a room with a balcony and... More

very friendly owner, Aldo, incredibly good food and generous portions. Excellent dinner and breakfast l have ever eaten. Lovely location and very clean and beautiful room with a stunning landscape through the balcony. we got much more than we expected. l normally don't want to visit the same place once again because would like to see different places but this... We are trekking and stayed here for 2 nights. After warming up to us the proprietor, Aldo, is very friendly and jokes. His wife, the cook is either shy or disappointed that her lot in life includes guests in her home. The place is big, old and cluttered with books, magazines, knick-knacks giving the impression of someone's grandparent's place. This... More

Aldo Conti is the owner - Aldo Conti is a legend - he is also a wonderful host and full of good solid down to earth humour and humanity. He is so laid back its hard to believe he gets it all done - to manage one of the best home from home I've had the honour of staying in.... More

This is a very special place. I came with my husband for 2 nights, and ended up staying 5. The nature around is just gorgeous. I woke up listening to birds singing. We were there in July, but we did not need any air conditioning, we just slept with our windows open (we would not turn on any lights when... More

This place is a real find! It is in the most stunning countryside and is very peaceful. However, what I wanted to particularly mention is the food and service. I have eaten in many places all over the world but our meals here were outstanding with small tasty courses that kept coming and all served to us as if we... More

This villa is situated in the middle of the mountains, absolutely peaceful place and a genuine countryside/mountain experience. I loved waking up in the morning and not hearing any car or city buzz but only birds :) However, it's not in the middle of nowhere as there is Gangi town just a few kilometers away, where we had a lovely... We had a lovely stay at this hotel and they were so friendly an accommodating it would have been really hard to have not enjoyed a stay here. It is probably not that easy to find but we arrived on horseback from a different direction to most people but this is a gorgeous spot. We had a lovely room on... More

We stayed two nights at this lovingly restored villa near Gangi, owned and operated by a family where mom cooks and dad serves the guests. Nice rooms with great views, clean and comfortable. The meals were excellent and true Sicilian fare. too cool to use the pool but I can imagine it would be lovely in warmer weather. So nice... More

Villa Raino is set in the beautiful countryside outside Gangi. The staff were helpful and friendly and we managed with our limited Italian and their limited English. Our room was very large with a little balcony and doors we could leave open to hear the silvery tones of the sheep bells. The furnishings were traditional Sicilian. Everything was very clean....
