We stayed here for two days in early April 2015. We had such a lovely and relaxing time here, especially after a couple of days in frenetic Mumbai! The house is really beautiful and the surrounding countryside stunning. What made our trip all the more special were the hosts Norman and Carole and their friendly staff. We will definitely be... Having read the reviews of Casa Susegad before we left for Goa we were not disappointed. This is a truly delightful place to chill out for a few days. Set in lush jungle vegetation and gorgeous gardens, this Portuguese house has been lovingly restored by Carole and Norman. It is a very personal place and you feel quite at home... More

Absolutely glorious and relaxing time in this wonderfully original Portuguese/goan style country house. Your hosts Carole and Norman are very welcoming and a mine of information to make your stay in Goa and the local area very memorable. The rooms are very comfortable and individually themed, excellent bar and food, and a very good swimming pool with massive sunbeds -... More

2 nights of peace & relaxation in a beautiful & eclectic home with a great pool and delicious food. The perfect end to our trip, we so enjoyed our time here, lazying by the pool on the huge sunbeds, eating some really good food and going on walks around the surprisingly interesting village. I had a massage, which was amazing... More

Lovely couple of days in Goa to end a fantastic holiday. Casa Susegad was the perfect place to stay. The house is on top of a hill in a small village. The rooms are individually decorated with seating outside facing the pool. Meals are usually served there. Breakfast is included in price and other meals can be organised. Drinks before... More

We visited again for two nights and were happy to find that previous very high standards have been maintained and the facilities indeed improved. In a previous review the price of meals was queried. Yes it is more than your average Goan meal, but you are not getting an average Goan experience so i still find it good value. Just... More

We recently stayed here for three nights in the Sunshine room. This heritage property, located in the pretty village of Lotulim has been lovingly and tastefully restored with an intimate yet laid back ambience where relaxation is the order of the day. Hosts Helen and Colin (standing in for owners Norman and Carol) were attentive and helpful, recommending local walks and... More

Make sure you budget for the actual cost of meals, which is not disclosed in emails regarding room costs. Dinner is a whopping (for India) 1250 rupees, not justified by the low- cost ingredients(starters included half a sweet corn, deserts 2 slices of pineapple and shop bought cake and custard). At breakfast it was eggs OR muesli OR toast and... More

Occasionally we meet guests for whom we are just not a good match and we are truly sorry that Casa Susegad did not meet your needs. We would like to address the points that you made about your dining experience. We run a small bespoke kitchen using only the freshest ingredients. Our menus are discussed daily with guests and we... sitting by the pool at this peaceful little hotel. Very quiet and laid back after a week in Delhi and Nepal. The hotel is a large old Portuguese house and the decor in keeping with this venerable building. Nice bar and truly exceptional food. Norman and Carol have created something really special in Goa and I can highly recommend it.

After a week in Mandrem, the pace of life in Loutolim was a bit of a shock to the system - it's a much smaller, much less touristy destination, but all the more lovely for it. We arrived on a Friday for a five night stay and were impressed with the house as soon as we pulled up to it,... More
