Tairoa Lodge is a beautiful old homestead dating from around 1895. The rooms are huge and all have ensuites and old fittings in keeping with the homestead. Beds are very comfortable and I slept like a log both nights. Friends stayed at the 2 bedroom cottage and also raved about it. I ate breakfast both mornings and what a sumptuous... More

Once again we have had a wonderful stay at Tairoa Lodge. It is the attention to detail that makes this place special. The rooms are beautifully set up in keeping with the style of the restored villa and very clean and comfortable. There is a facility for making tea and coffee on the landing, serving all rooms and has in addition,... We have just enjoyed a wonderful long weekend at Tairoa Lodge. Our room was so comfortable and beautiful too. We stayed in the Lovell Suite and the bathroom includes the original bath tub, perfect for a long soak. Linda cooked a superb dinner for us on the Saturday night and we enjoyed fabulous breakfasts each morning. We stayed with friends... More

I stayed at the Gatehouse for 6 weeks while on a work placement. I felt so welcomed- the home is beautiful with such attention to detail. It felt like a home away from home, really peaceful. I was there in early Spring and there were a few chilly nights, but the home was perfectly heated and I kept cosily warm.... More

We stayed while touring around from the UK. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our suite. The house has been lovingly restored and is set in beautiful grounds. The room was large and nicely furnished. The bed was very comfy. Breakfast was such a treat with cereals, fruit, yogurt, toast, jams, croissants, cooked selection, juice and hot drinks. This... We celebrated our anniversary with a 2 night stay in Tairoa Cottage. What a lovely place to stay and the little extras were really appreciated - thanks Linda. We have already recommended the Cottage to our family & friends and would love to stay again sometime.

Tairoa Lodge gave me a warm, inviting and relaxing environment in which to stay while attending a BPWNZ conference hosted by the Hawera Club. I wanted to treat myself to a special environment and that is exactly what Tairoa was. From the moment that we arrived Linda was concerned with our well being and comfort - a tray of freshly...
