We loved this hotel. The series of buildings surround a water feature and fountain and are connected by a number of enclosed walkways. For our stay everything was covered with a dusting of fresh snow. The hotel includes a buffet restaurant, a fancy traditional Japanese restaurant, and a third described as "French" that we did not try. The staff helpfully... More

We came in Dec. before we fly to Hawaii. A cold and the hot trip! We booked this hotel but did not know how far it was located. We took the train from Tokyo...switch trains and arrived here(train station). The Japanese were very helpful throughout and led us here. We were shocked when we arrived cos no hotel in sight.... We stayed here for a 3-day winter vacation with our 3 children---what a delight!! The Japanese-Western style suite was huge -- plenty of room and privacy for all of us, so clean, and a perfect view of Mt. Asana out our window! Also had a wonderful onsen and a huge breakfast buffet with lots of options. Best part though was... More

In the middle of woods and deep forest, a huge facility of Hotel Karuizawa 1130 appears all of a sudden. It feels somewhat outdated and very Japanese. The rooms are large, but somewhat not fully utilized. Kitchen space is a bit too cozy. It was a difficult to get beverages in and out. I spent two nights here, and luckily... More

Planning a trip to Karuizawa with my mother and her friend, we decided we wanted to stay somewhere slightly Japanese. We were recommended ti stay at Hotel 1130 - driving to the hotel we were so surprised to see this huge hotel. This is a typical Japanese experience, not the ryokan, quaint experience, but more the big mega-hotel, mega-facility, mega-everything... More

Lovely hotel, clean large rooms, comfortable sleep. Dinner was excellent and really enjoyed the onsen over winter. Breakfast average as very busy and food was quite cold however I still really enjoyed my stay. Very very quiet place in the forrest.

This is my 1st time to a Japanese hot spring, this place is about 3 & half hr drive from Shinjuku but it's such a beautiful place. The hot spring is lovely and the hotel is lovely too, the rooms are just enormous- even the standard ones, the suits had jacuzzi, steam rooms, dressing room, tatami, living room, 2 bedrooms.......
