This onsen ryokan is located about a three hour bus ride from Fukuoka city. The bus drops you off at a bus station along the main road adjacent to Kurokawa Onsen town whereby a driver from the ryokan will be there to greet you and take you to the ryokan located about 1.5 km away. You have to arrange your... More

I'm travelling with my dad. Yamamizuki has a very deep impression in my heart. Everything is done to perfection, even to the small details. I recommend booking rooms with private bath. The bath is overlooking the forest, separated from the room by a small garden. Outside hotspring is very beautiful, the view to the small stream and sound of the... More

The highway bus we took from Fukuoka arrives Kurokawa Onsen around noon time, we emailed the hotel beforehand that we want to walk around the onsen town before check in. Very much thanks for the arrangement made by staff Miss Amy, we were greeted by a gentlemen at bus stop, he send us to the town in a private van,... More

3rd time visiting Kurokawa. I have a pretty high expectation of this ryokan because of the good reviews in TA. I stayed at a room with private onsen also overlooking the river. wonderful view. However, the room is a bit worn out, not well kept ; in room onsen water is only warm (maybe well below 40deg C) & also... More

We arrived at Yamamizuki in dense mist and rain, that gave the place a mystic atmosphere, like a movie. The fog tangled up in the trees and the little stream trickled down through the valley, enclosing the onsen. The greeting was as excellent as it can be in Japan, and by the sight of the room, and, with an exclusive... More

This was my second stay in Yamamizuki within 4 months. The first time was in January of this year, I was very impressed with everything, so stayed there again in May as wanted to see how this place looks in the Spring when the leaves are plentiful and green as the whole property is surrounded by trees. I particularly enjoyed... More

My family stayed in the Type B river view rooms 201 and 202. From the moment we arrived at the bus stop, felt like a VIP since we had notified Amy Lee (speaks English and Chinese) of our arrival time on bus that morning via email, a manager was there dressed in a suit to pick us up in exclusive... We rented a car and through the gps found the ryokan with no problem at all though it took us up the hilly road. From the moment we check in the service is above par. A staff who spoke perfect english was assigned to us. The room is not as big as some ryokan we visited but was reasonable, there... More

From the special shuttle that picked us up from the bus stop after our two and a half hours’ ride from Fukuoka, we entered another world. The minute we arrived at the property, we felt a sense of rare peacefulness. We were assigned to and being looked after by a Japanese lady who spoke fluent English from the beginning to... More
