My friend and I stay 1 night here in Kurokawa. When we reached parking lot, the staff quickly came close to us and guide kindly our car to park in the right spot. The staff was really friendly and attentive. Though the staff don't speak English much, but they were trying to speak in English. I felt like home away... More

This onsen ryokan excels in trying define the meaning of Japanese hospitality. Distanced away from the Kurokawa onsen town proper. Yet, it makes up for it by being away from large tour groups, excellent in-house onsen, and hospitality second to none. Recommend this hideaway onsen resort that mains to please in any manner. The rooms were large and well furnished.... More

Yamamizuki is a good place to relax. she provided the best service and meals to guests. All staffs are very nice. Especially one of the staffs Miss Chan is so friendly that we felt comfortable very much. The onsen is very very good and the food is fresh and yummy. However, she is the best!!

Kurokawa onsen was a bit of drive from Beppu so we got there in the late afternoon. The ryokan was thoughtful enough to reserve a carspot for us and carried our luggage up to our room. We chose a traditional Japanese room complete with futon, sliding paper doors and traditional decorative ornaments. What we did not expect was that there... More

We are a family of 3 staying for one night at Yamamizuki. It was a very pleasant stay with helpful staff, delicious food and best onsen. My 3 year old son loves the bath so much and we could make the most of our short time here enjoying the outdoor bath. It was raining in the morning before we checked... More

We made the booking for an A-type room via email and liaised with Amy Lee. She speaks English and was quite prompt and helpful with our booking. We informed her of our arrival time as we were taking the bus from Fukuoka. The ryokan is about a three hour bus ride (9.20am to 12.05pm) and we were dropped off at... More

This onsen ryokan is located about a three hour bus ride from Fukuoka city. The bus drops you off at a bus station along the main road adjacent to Kurokawa Onsen town whereby a driver from the ryokan will be there to greet you and take you to the ryokan located about 1.5 km away. You have to arrange your... More

I'm travelling with my dad. Yamamizuki has a very deep impression in my heart. Everything is done to perfection, even to the small details. I recommend booking rooms with private bath. The bath is overlooking the forest, separated from the room by a small garden. Outside hotspring is very beautiful, the view to the small stream and sound of the... More

The highway bus we took from Fukuoka arrives Kurokawa Onsen around noon time, we emailed the hotel beforehand that we want to walk around the onsen town before check in. Very much thanks for the arrangement made by staff Miss Amy, we were greeted by a gentlemen at bus stop, he send us to the town in a private van,... More

3rd time visiting Kurokawa. I have a pretty high expectation of this ryokan because of the good reviews in TA. I stayed at a room with private onsen also overlooking the river. wonderful view. However, the room is a bit worn out, not well kept ; in room onsen water is only warm (maybe well below 40deg C) & also... More
