Ryokan Wakaba, takes a little finding, but once you get there, you will feel the warmth of the place and staff. In a town known for its Onsen, it offers one of the best. Why, the water is neither too hot or too warm, just right for a good bath. The food on offer both the breakfast and dinner are... More

This is One of the best Japanese style hotspring inns that I've been to. The inn provides bus station pick up service. The staff are nice and very helpful. They speak a little bit English but they use translation tools/ smartphone to help communicating. The room I was staying at is very spacious, with a nice grass-fragrance and it was... More

Everything was great. I would recommend to order dinner, they are wonderful, multi-course. Book room with its own hot spring, the apartment has several rooms and terrace / view of the river. Access is easy from the main road, unfortunately, gps runs through town with very narrow streets. The staff is nice and accommodating.

Ryokan Wakaba is the best ryokan I had ever stay. They are very friendly and warm. You can feel it when you are there. The chef use his heart to prepare every dishes. The food are nice and tasty. Highly recommend this ryokan if you are looking for one. And they reply your email.

My daughter and I decided to treat ourselves to a Japanese Style hotel. Sliding glass doors, sleeping on tatami mats, sitting on low chairs, wearing a yukata, an excellent 15 course dinner served in our room and an amazing 7 course breakfast were all part of the experience. Their onsen was great. We bought the pass that allowed us to... More

We stayed a night in Kurokawa and decided on Ryokan Wakaba. We drove and even with the GPS we had a hard time locating the ryokan. We called the Ryokan for help but as we spoke no japanese, it was rather fruitless. Through trial and error, we drove through a small narrow lane for 10 mins or so and finally... More

Before my trip, they send me an email to confirm my booking and that was very nice. They picked me up at the bus stop so you dont need to worry about if you will get the wrong way. The hotel itself is nice and traditional, with a little corner selling little things just opposite to the reception. When you... More

We stayed 2 nights at Ryokan Wakaba, and really enjoyed our stay. Our room was incredibly spacious, the bedding very comfortable, everything spotless. The yukata & warmer wear were just perfect for onsen hopping. The staff was extremely attentive, and made our stay very pleasant. We were welcomed at the bus station when we arrived, and driven back to the... More

What was wonderful about this traditional ryokan is its location, hospitable staff, sumptuous meals, thoughtful service and spacious room. The only area for improvement is the weak wifi in the room. Otherwise, we loved the experience!

Chose this ryokan because the website mentioned that the staff speak little English. They are friendly and can speak little English for us to get around. Stayed for a night and requested for a room with private onsen as I have never tried a ryokan with onsen in the room. The room that I got was big enough for 4... More
