My family and I planned this two-night stopover during our trip to Kyushu. While slightly out of the way, it was well worth our time and money. With five of us to a room costing 1,100 SGD, it was perhaps the best value Ryokan we've encountered thus far. Having gone in December, the village was quiet and tranquil, just as... More

First time visiting an onsen. The staff made us feel so welcome and we were really well looked after. Our room had a private onsen which I highly recommend too despite being a little more expensive than ones without. You can just have a dip whenever you want. The outdoor onsens are just beautiful and serene. You'll feel so relaxed... More

If there is any way you can afford to do so, you should spend a couple of days here. Spending time dressed in a yukata (children's sizes available) and enjoying relaxing hot springs and amazing food is a wonderful experience. Ryokan Sanga is a short walk out of town in a lovely peaceful location. It does take a bit of... More

No words can describe the outstanding experience we had at Syokan Sanga. We only stayed there one night but wished it had lasted longer! When we arrived we were informed that we had been upgraded to the ryokan "suite" for free. The house was very spacious, had a little kitchen, living room, bedroom and our own onsen. Service was perfect... More

We booked Ryokan Sanga because it's a little bit away from Kurokawa town center. Still easily access to Kurokawa town because Sanga offers free shuttle bus services. We arrived Kurokawa town by bus and Sanga driver picked us up from the bus stop. Host guided us to our room (standard Asebi room) and brought us some green tea with mochi.... More

Sanga Ryokan was as romantic as the pictures depicted it to be. It is a traditional ryokan with several onsens which guests can bath in, situated by a river. We tried several, including the private "family" onsen which overlooks the forest. There is also a very quaint food bath where one can sit and relax. The ryokan building(s) is surrounded... More

Pros: this is an incredibly romantic ryokan, the food is exceptional, service is friendly and the hot springs were - for us - very very relaxing. The ryokan is right by the river, we had a room with a hot spring in the room. It was more like an apartment, spacious and very simple/elegant, it is all in traditional japanese... More

We were two families with small children who stayed here (4 adults and 4 children - 6 and under). As everyone has mentioned, this place is exquisitely located. The female outdoor onsen is truly a special place. The food was outstanding. The decor is gorgeous. You will love your visit. I would not say that this place is particularly child... More

A bit outside the village centre, hidden between the trees and situated next to the river. A page to a Japanese fairy tale. Parked down the car and a staff welcomes you in helping out with the luggage and guides you to the reception. Kaiseki dinner was served private in your room by a personal host and she also makes... As Honeymooners, we had an amazing time at Ryokan Sanga. The staff were very lovely and accommodating. The location was so private and away from the other onsens/ryokans nearby which made it more quiet and peaceful area. Their staff have provided excellent service from food to our room. This is highly recommended for honeymooners and couples.
