one of the best experience I have with Ryokan, We stayed there and had a very very good time. The outdoor onsen is very beautiful. It was too bad that I spent too little time on bathing in hot spring. The food and service are outstanding.

This is one of the best traditional ryokan I have been in. The locations is amazing, in the deep of a valley in the Onsen (Spa) town of Kirokawa. They will come and pick you up at the bus station, and then the service will keep on being excellent for all the stay. The ryokan seems like a small old... More

Having travelled many parts of Japan and stayed in various onsen towns and ryokans, this is the best I've been to so far! Ryokan Sanga is the epitome of true Japanese hospitality. The serene surroundings, ever helpful staff who helped us lug 10 pieces of luggage to our room, and a simply jaw-drop awesome outdoor onsen. I'd be frank and... More

Thanks to the TA community, I picked Sanga for one of the two notes I spent at Kurokawa, reckoning that if I were to come once to Kurokawa, it had better be a v gd experience. After all, whether you travel from Fukuoka or Kumamoto by bus, it is a torturous 3 hours. Now The Sanga. This is a v... More

The woodland setting of Ryokan Sanga envelopes and relaxes you gently. The traditional hearth on the estate, which releases into the air the scent of burning wood, is a lovely touch that adds to the rusticity, especially as you use the outdoor baths. The rooms are elegantly appointed with well thought-out views onto the lush landscape. The sounds of the... More

We spent 2 nights here in January and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. As we stayed during winter, we arrived to an already heated room and our futons were so comfortable making for a top nights sleep. I highly recommend booking a room with a private hot spring, ours was a private outdoor hot... More

Truly enjoyable experience. Traditional ryokan in secluded forest area near Kurokawa onsen village. Attentive and friendly staff took care of everything from very first moment of pick up at the bus stop. Nicely maintained baths with several choices. Excellent 10 course kaiseki dinner and generous Japanese style breakfast. Room had all I needed. Definitely recommend this place.

We stayed three nights at this superb ryokan, which although quite remote and taking some effort to get to, was well worth the trouble to do so. Sanga is a located by itself a little out of the town of Kurokawa Onsen, while other onsen in the town are quite crowded together. A shuttle service to the town is provided... More

Hands down the best hotel I have ever stayed at - and I've stayed at quite a few. Nestled away in the mountains surrounded nature. Staff were kind, food very tasty.?Rooms are huge and with expensive decor and furnishings. Onsens are phenomenal. Great place to unwind. Cannot recommend It enough! I would recommend Ho-No-Ki room as you get a walk... More

The ryokan is located at the very end of Kurokawa onsen area, so it's quite calm. To access to the town you might need a car. All staffs are great, always willing to help. Dinner course is delicious, they also serve horse meat (raw). It taste good but if you dont like just inform them in advance. Beware if you... More
