It was a little bit difficult to locate this hotel coz the phone no. of the hotel could not be found in GPS. You have to use the phone no. of another hotel nearby for GPS. It was such a lovely place that I fell in love with it at once. We stayed at the room called "Ryoubu" which is... More

We stayed here in end Nov '13. The room rate was 27600yen (13800yen/person) including breakfast and dinner. This hotel has no internet or WIFI. This is a very traditional, affordable and charming Japanese ryokan with its own unique style and character and gives us the true experience of a Japanese Ryokan. Compared to ryokans in Hakone, it is more secluded,... More

My wife and I stayed at Kiyashiki for 2 nights mid-late May 2014. We had a superb experience. Below are some of the bits that were more unique to our stay (since many aspects have been covered by better-written reviewers). Keep in mind that we have no prior ryokan experience to draw from, and I only have 1 other experience... More

Stayed in a traditional Japanese room (Ryokan style); the whole experience was wonderful and totally relaxing. Service was top notch and the place is beautiful and well maintained. Rooms are clean and spacious. However, there is no wifi connectivity so visitors who need to be connected need to be aware. Nevertheless, a great place to rest for a night or... More

My first few choices (Yamamizuki, Okunoyu and Hozantei) were full, but I have no regrets staying at Kiyashiki. Kurokawa Onsen is a town with an amazing hot spring river running through it. There are countless onsen resorts in the town, each boasting different types of design and views. Kiyashiki staff picked us up from the bus stop (which seemed to... More

Took my family on a 6-day tour of Kyushu with the hight-light being the visit to Kurokawa onsen. I originally planned an overnight trip to the onsen town. Because of the long bus ride from Fukuoka, we decided to spend two nights instead. It was the right decision. After much research on the Internet, I decided on Kiyashiki. One of... More
