Nice modern ryokan, nothing much to complain about. Nice architecture and interior design . Beautiful and tastefully done up lounge for chilling. Restaurant serves delicious food too. Outdoor onsen available that serve the town view , free massage chair available after your stressful day

The location of the hotel is perfect that it is close enough to the temple area but also slightly hidden up to give the privacy. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The architecture of the hotel itself is also very interesting blending in modern and traditional elements. The room are nice and the food is good if you choose... More

The hotel claims over 400-year history and now part of it modernized in many ways for their facilities and services. The room (with tatami) we stayed was very comfortable and with great view to the city and mountain. Their out door hot spring was very soothing as well. The dinner was more in the modern flare while the breakfast was... More

The hotel occupies a favoured position overlooking a river and beautiful gardens, the hotel's own and the shrine garden across the river. Service is amazingly good and the place is stunning. Food is decent but not great. The hotel is also great value and has a wonderful Onsen.

This is the picture of the hotel look attractive indeed. But surrounding town is nothing to be excited about. We arrive at the hotel and it was impressively model style Ryokan. The staff was professional and nothing more. Exception to on staff serving us dinner, he was very helpful in try to explain to us what we are being served.... More

I stayed in this hotel twice and the second one was April when I saw Kompira-Kabuki. The hotel is situated on the hill side and has a good view overlooking the river side from the lounge on the 3rd floor. Food is worthy of special mention here. You can enjoy the pairing of well prepared Japanese course meal with local... More

Age-old history of the hotel , but the interior is not obsolete , with a feeling of modern. Free parking and wifi. Staffs polite, food taste good but dinner less weight . Onsen feeling is not all-natural , like a little taste of disinfectant .

This is a typical japanese Ryokan, but sophisticated and elevated to the higher standard possible. Kotohira-kadan is a small traditional ryokan that will provide you not only a place to rest and sleep but in fact a whole experience. When you check in you will be hosted and taken to your room. You will then find a set of Yukata... More

Was looking for an accommodation in Kagawa prefecture that is central enough and yet away from any hustle and bustle as my first stop in Shikoku in early Dec 2014. Am glad I decided on Kotohira Kaden (KK). To do justice, it's probably useful to break down my experience. Post-Internet Booking -> I received a confirmation email (not the standard... More

A stay at Kotohira Kadan was a superlative experience . One is treated with service delicate, gracious , thoughtful and discreet. Large, comfortable, clean, well heated tatami room with a view. Toilet and bathroom spacious by Japanese standards. Superlative kaiseki dinner and breakfast featuring seasonal local produce . Good wine and sake list. Even if you are not interested in... More
