We stayed at Benesse Park for 2 nights and loved it. Such a relaxing setting. But it's the art you come here for and it completely blows you away. Each piece has a sense of place within the architecture and the elements. We were constantly surprised and delighted. The breakfast was great but We found the restaurants in the evening... More

We stayed in the Benesse Park hotel for 2 nights. Loved the hotel and loved the island. The art installations are superb - the architecture and the elements enhance them in a way I've never seen before. There are only two restaurant choices and both pricey; there are alternatives on the island but a bit dead at this time of... More

We stayed two nights in an Oval room. The room was fine, the view spectacular. The oval complex itself was very pleasingly realised . Each room is set around an oval with a glazed infinity pool in the centre ( ornamental, not swimming ) which is stunning at night. The monorail was cool but a tad slow. The art house... More

Nice building, a bit too plain concrete for me. Limited art inside, bit disappointing. I stayed one night at a cost of 42000 yen. Not really worth the price, but a bit if a treat after spending the rest of our time staying in budget accommodation. Make you you make the most if your stay and travel on the monorail... More

The Benesse House is an elegant place to stay on Naoshima Island. Everything about our room, the setting, the service, and the artwork that is on the grounds made our stay there unforgettable. We stayed in the Park section of the hotel and had a lovely view of the Inland Sea. We had dinner at the restaurant in the Benesse... More

Naoshima and Benesse house was our highlight in Japan. We considered staying somewhere cheaper as it was rather expensive but in the end decided to go with the Benesse House as was highly recommended from our friends. It was a truly amazing experience and I would highly recommend it. We stayed in the Park. The whole complex is such a... More

One of the most extraordinary travel experiences. Staying at Benesse House is not cheap, but I highly recommend it for a memorable special holiday. If you love art, architecture, nature... it is a must-do. The hotel was built by Tadao Ando, renowned concrete architect. Concrete never looked so beautiful as it does here - the architecture is a triumph. (The... More

Chill out and take in the atmosphere. This is my main recommendation. Yes, the room in the Park section, was not huge. Yes, the food was not brilliant. Yes, some of the Art went straight over my head. Yes, getting there is not easy. Yes, it is fairly expensive. But yes, it is a wonderful place and should be on... More
