Our first stop in a ryokan and our group tour were the only guests. Biggest rooms we stayed in throughout our Japanese trip, with wonderful views from the balcony towards the gorge. This ryokan is right at the entrance to the gorge, you couldn't get closer! And it's about 50m from the bus stop. Try and get the express bus at 8:15am from Hiroshima bus station to make the trip about 70mins rather than the 2.5 hours it took us! One of the owners had ok English and all the staff were... More

Stayed here a few times winter, fall and spring. Always fun. The rooms are nothing special, typical tatami room but the balcony view and proximity to the gorge is worth it. We had the full service dinner once (served in our room) and it was the most beautiful spread I've ever seen. But I don't think they do the room... More
