I came here during the Sakura blossom season, but was a bit early, since this is on the mountains, so the trees seem to bloom a bit later than in the lower cities. But the scenes were breathtaking nevertheless. The location isn't too far from the cable car (which was the preferred way my friend and I traveled up the... More

Very friendly and helpful staff. Amazing location in full cherry blossom time (April 23rd,) Beautifully built ryokan from Yoshino cedar by the owners and helpers. Swing in "lounge" made for special photos. Thoroughly recommend an overnight stay here.

As mentioned by many reviewers, the ryokan is well located, clean and quiet, food is good and staff are nice.. I'd like to share my memorable experience for this Autumn. One morning I wanted to go to Kintetsu station to catch a bus to a river to see the autumn leaves and asked for transportation service to the nearby Yoshino... More

Beautifully constructed log cabin hotel. The coffee shop which is also the place for breakfast is a separate log cabin across the road from the hotel with views of the mountains. We were there in the last week of November and it was the peak of the autumn foliage; the mountains and the town was covered with autumn foliage and... More

I and my partner stayed at this place on the last day of the trip. It was so wonderful. We arrived the Yoshino Station later than planned. The staff is really nice to drive a car to pick us up. We were the only customer at the hotel but the services are all in full. In next morning, we wanted... More

We stayed here for one night as part of a group. Superb experience, beautiful facility and wonderful location and scenery. Our room had its own toilet and washbasin, was facing the forest and very quiet and comfortable. The communal bathing areas and hot springs are excellent and clean. The reception and general areas are very welcoming and dinner was superb.... More

I have to highly recommend this Ryokan for the truly authentic and personalized Japanese cultural experience. Our family reserved 2 rooms for me, my husband, and 2 teenagers. The location is perfect if you love nature. We are living in Japan currently, but do not really speak Japanese. Often we are observers of Japanese culture but can only be peripherally... More

When my wife decided to include in our Japan trip a little place call "Yoshino" I was more than worry. We don't speak japanese, the way to go was long and difficult and there were not so many accommodations available to book in english. We took the Cable Car and we went to the left. After crossing a little orange... More

The one night I spent at the Ryokan Kato was booked for me by my japanese friend who works in the area. This is a fine traditional hotel/inn built entirely in wood. We were welcomed with some cold tea and a sweet pastry which was nice after having journeyed six hours from Tokyo by train. My room was large (14... More

We stayed in the annex. The rooms are very soundproofed, and have private toilet and sink. They are very large, with a lovely view The hot springs was lovely. The food was a baby hot pot, and the dinner was vey vey good. All in all, an excellent plac to stay
