Have one night in the normal twin room in the West Wing and one night in the open-air bath room. Twin room in west wing is quite dated. Looks like a 70's room. Open-air bath room comes with tatami, not western bed as in the hotel page and did not look that flashy too>> http://www.shiretoko.co.jp/rooms/mainbuil.html Only thing I can say... More

The room is well organized with beds and tatami area with a view on the harbour. The breakfast and dinner buffet are excellent and of good quality and selection. The lobby area was really big with sofas. There was also a shopping alley and a children's game arcade. Free wifi were provided every where within the hotel. The onsen on... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in Jun on our self drive holiday to Hokkaido. I only booked breakfast as I thought I would like to try the local restaurants for dinner. On our second night we decided to have dinner at the hotel. We went to one of the restaurant for ala carte dinner and to our surprise it... More

This hotel was supposed to be the highlight as it was the most expensive in our entire 'low budget' trip. Room is nice, big and clean even we were In the old wing. Onsen is huge with a view! What was disappointing was the dinner. I wanted my group to experience a traditional Japanese Onsen hotel & it's legendary dinner.... More

Stayed at the hotel with my husband during his work conference for 2 nights and had a wonderful experience. The room was beautiful with a lovely view of the sea and the harbor. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Good breakfast and delicious dinner. They provide you with "Yukata" which is sort of a kimono that you can wear and... More

We stayed during 4 nights in this hotel. The room is well organized with beds and tatami area with a view on the harbor. The breakfast and dinner buffet are excellent with good products of good quality and a great choice. The staff is nice and professional. I recommend the hotel within a good location to explore the Shiretoko Park.

I stayed with a friend at the Kitakobushi for just one night in late of March while taking a "Japan Rail Pass"-powered trip through Hokkaido. Regarding the location and quality of the hotel it was easily the highlight of our entire journey (we mainly stayed at normal business hotels and youth hostels at the rest of the trip). The hotel... Room is spacious with the sea view full of floating ice. Instead of instant coffee that commonly served in Japan hotel, this hotel provide coffee beans with grinder and filter, for you to make a cup of coffee that full of aroma. That's hardly find in other hotels in Japan. Our seafood set dinner consists more than 15 courses, and... More

Public buses will stop at the hotel entrance right after the bus station, so it is quite convenient. We stayed a night in early February. Our room had fantastic view of the sea of drift ice. I can just sit by the window for hours. However, this hotel seems to be popular with large travel groups and can be noisy... More

The third resort out of four we stayed this 7 days trip. It is not the best but I still give it a 5 (Exlellent) rating for its quality at this area. It is a facility I'll recommend, or return to stay next trip. The facility, staff and food are all up to the expected quality. The location is great for... More
