Our stay at the Schneider Hotel was truly a joy. Aside from the fact that the hotel itself is perfectly situated right on the ski field (you can literally strap in and out of you skis/board right at the front door!) the staff were extremely helpful and diligent when it came to making further travel arrangements and transfers. Dexter served... More

I love NOZAWA SKI RESORT and i have been using Japanese Style ryokan most of the time. But i stayed @ HOTEL Schneider twice this season. The hotel is located in the middle of the ski area PERFECT for the SKIING/SNOWBOARDING. They have excellent HIGH-SPEC ski/snowboard rental space in basement. SO i didn't have to worry about my girlfriends ski/boots.... More

We visited the hotel over Christmas and New Year and really couldn't have asked for anything better! I was nervous booking at first as I hadn't seen many reviews and it was our first time to Japan, but from day 1, Hotel Schneider nailed it! The hotel was recently renovated and the new owners pulled everything together on time for... More

Stayed at the Schneider early in the year for three nights and had a fabulous experience. The location on the mountain is ideal and perfect for families visiting from overseas thanks to the English speaking staff. The attached bar was also quite cozy with some great craft beer available. Access to the village was easy for a relaxed apres ski... More

My son was seeking a boarding adventure in Japan and friends referred us to The Schneider Hotel - boy were they right on. Gardner, the owner, met us fresh of the airplane and van ride to Nozawa Onsen at The Craft, a cozy bar he co-ownes in town. We scooted up the mountain in his specially outfitted snowvan and crashed... More

Full disclosure: I'm a friend of one of the new owners. Stayed here with a group of 6 guys for some hard core Japanese powder skiing. Had an amazing time. The Hotel Schneider the perfect place for this sort of trip - it's all about the skiing and everything is set up to make getting on the snow as quick... More

I had a great week there. The hotel is very close to the gondola and the village just a short walk. I stayed in a traditional room and it was roomy and comfortable. They have a cute bar for post ski drinks with great warm snacks The hotels staff were extremely helpful and really this is ideal if you are... More

We had a great trip up to Nozawa between Christmas and New Years 2014. It was our first family snow holiday in Japan and we wanted to select a location that was up on the mountain in the snow. The Schneider Hotel was great. It is the highest hotel on the mountain and the view from our Japanese style Tatami... More

My 7 year old son and I arrived at their grand opening at the start of the ski season. We opted for the Japanese style rooms with shared toilets and bath. It was perfect for us! The food was excellent and I definitely recommend the hot wings and craft beer in the adjoining lounge. Very easy to ski in and... More

My family (Mommy, Daddy and daughters 7 and 3) spent two nights at The Schneider in February and had a great time. Very down-to-earth feel right on the hill. Just what ski accommodations should be. While looking after the younger one Daddy walked out the front door of the hotel with littleun in tow and started building a snowman. Location,... More
