We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Tokyu. The staff were amazing and the facilities are excellent. The onsens have an indoor and outdoor which is fabulous although if it's snowing heavily they close the outdoor one unfortunately. They provide beautiful toiletries/lotions in your own bathroom as well as in the onsen. Buses for the ski resorts come regularly to the... More

Deep Powder Tours in Sydney made this recommendation. We were thrilled with the old lodge style in a modern building. The whole experience was perfect but some of the key points were. The restaurants in the hotel and around in the near by streets were wonderful. Breakfast was a treat with lots of buffet style food and great omelettes. The... More

We sent two weeks at the Tokyu whilst skiing in Hakuba. The hotel met every requirement we had. The breakfast buffet was extensive and of very good quality. We ate in both the Japanese and French restaurants (not very French to be honest) and the food was very good indeed. The ever available staff were keen to please, helping with... More

We spent a very comfortable and enjoyable week at this hotel in Jan 2014. Our room was set up for 2 adults and 1 child and we had plenty of space available. The only slight issue was that the beds are quite hard and take some getting used to. Our room overlooked the back of the property (facing the gardens... More

Our room was spacious and clean, but bet was too hard for me. Hot spring (ONSEN in Japanese) is so nice both inside and outside. As dinner is expensive for us, we chose "lounge" instead of Japanese/Western restaurant. Lounge drink and food were reasonable and delicious, so we are very satisfied. Another advantage of this stay was 5,150 JPY per... More

A week at the Tokyu for skiing was bliss. Clean quiet comfortable rooms, wonderful onsen and generous buffet breakfast was just the beginning. You can rent your ski equipment fromt he shop in the hotel at very reasonable rates. Downtown Hakuba is a short walk, though it's uphill on the way home. Helps to burn up all those calories you've... Lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff, well appointed rooms and a good breakfast buffet. We tried the restaurant,, which was ok, but actually preferred the food in the cosy lounge by the fire. The staff 'went the extra mile' to make drinks for us that were not on the menu. ski-rental in the hotel is super-convenient. I would definitely recommend this... More

Everything was perfect . Walk in to hot chocolate on arrival. At first the beds were at bit hard but we pushed them together and put the extra doona from the wardrobe between the two and slept on that and it was perfect. They even made our bed like that for us. Plus after a day of skiing I could... More

Very nice hotel. Nice enough rooms. Beds a little too hard for me. Tiny bathroom, a bit outdated. Staff were very nice, helpful. Many foreign staff on hand for English speakers and other languages. On site onsen a little small but very clean. One bath inside one out that was closed for 3 out of 5 days. Don't recommend getting... More

Everything about this hotel is great. Only downside is the staff lacked english skills which made communication difficult . Breakfast brilliant. Ski set up amazing. Hummingbird down the road a lovely place for homely japanese food. Will stay again.
