We stayed in Mominoki early March this year as the first hotel on our Honeymoon. We had 5 nights there and would go back in a flash. The hotel is located 250m from one of the twin chair lifts, so you can walk there and be guaranteed first lift up the mountain – this is the reason we chose it.... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mominoki Hotel. It's in a great location, you can walk 5 minutes to the slopes each day and there is a good shop for ski hire just next door. The rooms are basic but reasonably cheap too. Breakfast was also included and was ok. Not much good fresh fruit, which seems common in Japan... More

My wife and I enjoyed 6 nights at the Mominoki in Feb 2015. We had a suite with Tatami area so our room was quiet and comfortable. The staff are excellent and went out of their way to help. We forwarded our ski bag from Narita and it was in the room when we arrived and on departure the staff... More

We (a couple) stayed in a Family room just so we had a bit more space. We stayed 6 nights. The room was a good size, but the walls are very thin. We woke to mumbled conversations most mornings from the adjoining room. On one occasion the child next door was so loud at 6AM we thought maybe there were... More

What can I say....... The staff were so friendly and helpful from the onset. The location was fantastic, close to ski rental, shuttle buses to resorts and the disco bus at night to transport you to some of the best eateries around. The pub was a great place to escape and have a drink ( about 40 m from hotel)... More

Our family of 5 (with older teenagers) visited Hakuba for 10 days of skiing. We had previous stayed at the Hakuba Tokyu, just up the road. Whilst it was a wonderful experience, with a great onsen, it was a little too sedate for our lively family. The Mominoki suited us perfectly. We had two rooms - a twin and a... More

First the good... Location: The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is about a 5-10 min walk from the Kokusai lift at Happo One. Course guide here (http://www.happo-one.jp/info/pdf/course_guide.pdf) There is also Rhythm Japan right across from the hotel where you can rent gear. The hotel has a great discount on the lift ticket and also a 10%... More

Lovely hotel located in the Wadano area of Hakuba: a short walk to Hakuba village and Happo-one ski area. Free shuttle buses operate a few metres from the hotel to other ski areas. Wonderful onsen including lovely outdoor one, very good buffet breakfast, clean and comfortable and very nice bad with an open fire.

We didn't stay at this hotel so can't comment on the rooms as such. However, we did visit the Onsen a few times as we were staying at a nearby lodge without that facility. I found the front desk staff very polite and accommodating even if the didn't explain the exact workings of the Onsen which we knew anyway from... More

I am currently staying at this hotel, and I have found it to be disappointing for the following reasons: 1. It is isolated. The main township of Hakuba is about a 15 minute walk, or 1,200 yen taxi ride. 2. The rooms are tiny, and the bathrooms are so small that it is comical. 3. The beds are rock hard,... More
