Lovely hotel located in the Wadano area of Hakuba: a short walk to Hakuba village and Happo-one ski area. Free shuttle buses operate a few metres from the hotel to other ski areas. Wonderful onsen including lovely outdoor one, very good buffet breakfast, clean and comfortable and very nice bad with an open fire.

We didn't stay at this hotel so can't comment on the rooms as such. However, we did visit the Onsen a few times as we were staying at a nearby lodge without that facility. I found the front desk staff very polite and accommodating even if the didn't explain the exact workings of the Onsen which we knew anyway from... More

I am currently staying at this hotel, and I have found it to be disappointing for the following reasons: 1. It is isolated. The main township of Hakuba is about a 15 minute walk, or 1,200 yen taxi ride. 2. The rooms are tiny, and the bathrooms are so small that it is comical. 3. The beds are rock hard,... More

There is a lot to like about this hotel, but you need to be prepared for some trade-offs. We have just had a weeks stay, and really enjoyed the snow, blessed with a real mixed bag of weather from all the extremes. The Hotel is close by the Happo-one ski resort (walking distance to chair lift) - trade off is... More

While we enjoyed our stay there are some easy things this place can do to improve. The rooms are spacious and well appointed and being located across from the ski rental, the pub and a couple of good restaurants and a short walk to Happoone are all fantastic. Things to improve, they advertise wi-fi in the room which was important... More

As far as mid-range hotels go in Hakuba, Mominoki is hard to beat. Situated a stone’s throw away from Happo-One ski resort in the hamlet of Wadano, at the foothills of the towering Mount Karamatsu. We stayed for a total of five nights and four days of glorious white powder. The hotel itself is fairly unassuming; a large chalet style... More

The hotel is in a good spot only a few steps from the pub, steak house and ski rental. The onsens are amazing and the hotel walking distance to Hsppo 1. On the down side the wifi works speratically, your better off sitting in the pub and using there's. The rooms don't have an internal thermostats that can be changed... More

We did not stay here but patronised this hotel quite often to enjoy their small wine bar and sitting area. Their buffet is wonderful, food fantastic and staff very helpful. They went out of their way to book us cabs and buses even though we were not guests. We will be staying here next time we go to Hakuba.

We stayed at the Mominoki Hotel last January and it was not what the travel agent sold it to us as. If we had known what it was like, we would have been ok with it and wouldn't have expected more. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the hotel and it is officially a four star (don't know... More

I've stayed at the Mominoki a couple of times over the last few years. First off: this is a more 'Japanese-style' ski resort, so if you are not used to that, some of the features may surprise. The positives: an amazing tatami room and futons are very comfortable after a hard day skiing, and the onsen is cozy and very... More
