Whist we were in Hakuba-mura again staying with friends this February, we booked through Maison de Sasagawa for the babysitting of our two children through the Maison's other business, Hakuba Mommy Babysitting. This was the second time we have done this. My children are 1 & 3yo boys and were in the care of Manami for a week while we... More

I've been traveling for a bit now (6 months) and been to so many guesthouses... So far this is the best place ive been to! It is a real guest-house, the sasagawa family actually lives there and accepts guests. The owner (yoko) is absolute wonder! She is just making it feel like a home away from home being so friendly... I stayed for 3 nights during January for a ski trip. Things that make a great hotel/stay are: Location, customer service, price, and quality of the hotel. Location: a 5 minute walk from the gondola at Happo, 5 minute walk from Rhythm ski rentals, and easy walk to restaurants in town. Price: my goodness. 3500 yen for 1 night in... More

I almost hate to write a review of this place because I would love for it to remain my little secret. I've been coming here for four years now, and I think it may be my favorite guesthouse I've ever stayed in. Many of the guests are repeat customers like me who keep coming back because it really is the... More

I lived here for a month 3 years ago and loved it. It was almost like I became a part of the family. Yoko who runs it is a real gem. She is super nice and super helpful. Speaks fantastic English and has a lot of local knowledge as she grew up I the area. Rooms are mostly Tanami Japanese... More

My family loves this little place and we have gone back different years to go skiing. Now, we always think of heading back here to ski at Hakuba. As a family run pension, Maison de Sasagawa offers just the right mix of western and Japanese rooms, food, and hospitality as well as internet throughout the rooms. Yoko really makes your... More

What an amazing trip! We arrived very late on Friday night and Yoko-san was awaiting our arrival at the terminal. After a long day traveling, we rested well Friday night. Saturday morning breakfast was awaiting us and it was just what we needed for our long day ahead on the slopes! Having never been skiing before, Yoko was VERY helpful... More

This is a great little place. Its a family run pension which offers boutique style accommodation. I was spending a month in Hakuba snowboarding so the location of this place is fantastic. Its only a couple of minutes walk to gondola. The rooms are comfortable and have a mix of western and Japanese tatami style room. Each came with its... More

Thank you very much. I hope you enjoyed snowboarding in Happo,Hakuba. Yes, some of our guests called me "Yoko Taxi" :) I want to drive for our guests as possible as I can when they need . Because I grow up here and I know about Hakuba, I really want to show "real Hakuba's life" to our guests which they... More
