The Shakespeare is in the heart of Ecoland close to shops, restaurants and buses to the ski slopes directly in front. Ski hire on site and breakfast though basic had a selection of both Japanese and Western. The rooms are adequate but dated and all single beds. The staff are helpful and welcoming.

Such an enjoyable stay for our first trip to Hakuba! We arrived at 2am, and everything was organized from our ski tickets to visitor brochures. The twin room we stayed in was clean and a lot bigger than what I was expecting for Japan, this worked out well considering we were traveling with boards and large bags. I can't say... More

Okay, so the hotel itself was nice enough, the staff were genuinely helpful had a great experience there. The location was fantastic as it well placed in relation to buses, snowfields, bars and restaurants...it's not far from everything. Good value for money to boot. The only problem I encountered was our first triple share room...it was in essence a nicely... More

We found an absurdly cheap ski+lodge deal (using our own private car) that included lift tickets, rentals, onsen admission, dinner and breakfast, and a one night stay at this hotel. The price alone warranted a 4+ rating, but for me the overall value bumped it up to 5. I'd rather not quote the price to be fair to the hotel... More

In 2013 my daughter and I stayed here for our first trip to Hakuba. We initially booked here as it is situated on the main street of Echoland where a number of Restaurants operate in the winter, and it is one of the main shuttle busstops. We enjoyed everything about the Hotel...the snowing 2am arrival, the quaint little room with... More

Hotel is clean and located really conveniently on the main road. All buses stop there so it's easy to explore all the ski fields and they're free for boarders and skiers. Rooms are pretty small but perfectly adequate and showers are very good. Drying room in basement and cafe for breakfast with full buffet which we had included is just... More

Four of us Aussies stayed here in mid Feb and it was the first time to the Hakuba area. The Good: The hotel was pretty standard size, the staff were willing to assist with most simple enquiries (best not to always take their advice as gospel and consult google if you want to be sure about things like bus timetables... Fab little hotel on the main street of Hakuba. Homely feel and good facilities e.g. Dry room for skis etc. Amazingly helpful staff. Just a quick phone call from the train station and they picked us up free of charge. They also rang to help us book dinner reservations and were generally awesome. Free regular shuttle buses to go to... More

My family and I got a deal from jetstar that included flights accommodation and ski passes in Hakuba, Japan. We arrived in Narita and were greeted by a Liquid snow tours representative who showed us to our bus which was quite full of other tourists. It took 5 hours to drive to the hotel and we arrived at about 3am.... More

We knew what we were getting thanks to other reviews so here is our two bobs worth. The place is friendly and it's location in echoland is great. Surrounded by restaurants. It's definitely not a walk to the slopes but the buses use the Shakespeare as a stop so getting around is easy. Rooms were tidy but dated and stained.... More
