Upon entering Rosenheim I was greeted with such enthusiasm, this was lovely considering I had been travelling for over 24 hours. Check in was easy and I was given many brochures to look at about Hakuba. I was shown to my room which was a small single room. It was very basic and needs a bit of a make over.... More

We've stayed in quite a few hotels in Japan, including ski resort accommodation and this place is definitely the worst. It's very close to the Nakiyama lifts (5 min walk), about 15 mins to the Gondola and a 5-10 min walk into town and Echoland but that's about it. Our room was very outdated and the beds were terrible. The... More

We have stayed in many hotels and resorts in Japan over 10 years here. You won't find anything great without paying for it dearly. This is a great deal for the cost. The outdoor onsen is fantastic although it gets almost unbearably hot! The apres ski activities at the hotel bring people together and expose folks to some Japanese traditions... More

I just read through many reviews for hotel Rosenheim and just second what has been written. We were also rushed with our breakfast as we used to take it quite late and it was cleared on the minute at the end of the hour. But juggling all the pros & neg, the location makes it worth to stay. Walking distance... More

If you are expecting beautiful surroundings when off the slopes, look elsewhere. If you are focused on skiing and don't mind a more modest place to stay, you'll be delighted. The room we stayed in showed quite obvious ill-repair (a damaged light fixture, chipped furniture), as did some of the common areas of the hotel generally. But the staff and... More

3minute walk to the lift. Can ski to the front door if ya got the skills. Hot springs inside 2nd floor are pretty nice and maintained well. I was put on 5th floor of new wing. Very nice. For the price. Don't have the biggest expectations. Its modest and prefect for the person there to SKI not be a hotel... More

The first thing to note is accommodation in Hakuba is expensive - and this is at the cheaper end. So, you get what you pay for with the rooms which are dated and have limited supplies (no shampoo etc) and services (room not serviced daily). That said they are comfortable and for the few hours you use them I'm a... More

Stayed at Rosenheim Hotel for a week in Feb 2013. Great location in Happo with a short walk to the Nakiyama lifts. Longer walk to restaurants is required, but still accessible by walking. Rooms were of comfortable size, but dated and not very clean. Beds were very short.... futons probably be better. Heating via a split system, made the air... More

The Rosenheim Hotel is in one of the best locations in Happo; walking distance to a ticket office and the Nakiyama lifts. From your room or the onsens you can see the downhill courses, dating from the 1998 Olympics and the Nakyiama 3 runs. You can even see the night skiing from the onsens. Unfortunately the hotel is in serious need... More

This Hotel is fantastic. My girlfriend and I stayed for 7 nights to ski. While the decor is straight from the 80s, the place is full of character and charm. The staff are amazing and will do anything to help, even with limited English. When a touristy japanese restaurant I wanted to book was booked out, staff recommended a local... More
