My family came with a big group of friends. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts and dinners. The onsen was typical in japanese hotel. It was okay. One huge shock was several girls who spoke mandarin took their selfie sticks out and tried to take their own pictures! It would be better if staff came in regularly to enforce the rules.... More

Had a nice stay here. Only a few minutes walk to Happo One ski resort and there are plenty of busses that stop at the other ones once you figure out the system Rooms were a bit hot and the only temp control is to wastefully open windows to cool it down The room was Japanese style which although comfortable... We stayed at Goryokan for seven nights and found the views from our room on the third floor, and both the dinning and lobby areas to be delightful. Our room, and the hotel in general was exceptionally clean and the staff were ever so helpful. Especially the check-in staff, who spoke quite good English. We were within 10 mins walk... More

Just returned from a ski ing trip in Hakuba. Spent 10 nights at Goryukan hotel (Feb 2015). Family of 4 with 2 twenty something children. We loved staying in this hotel. Great japanese rooms with amazing views of the slopes and mountains, great breakfast, 5 mn walk to Nakiyama slopes, several shuttle buses departing or stopping at the hotel. 5... More

We absolutely loved staying at the Goryukan hotel. We had a room that overlooked the night skiing runs, which was so beautiful after a day out on the slopes. The room was huge by Japanese standards and to be honest, the highlight for me was the heated toilet seats! The onsens in the hotel were wonderful, both inside and outside,... More

We stayed here for 5 nights and found it to be excellent. The staff were great, all speaking english of varying degrees and super helpful. The room had a great view of the mountains-night run and ski jump ,and was large and comfy. Reception were wonderful, especially after I had hurt my leg and nothing was too much trouble for... More

We stayed here for 5 days while skiing at Hakuba. It is one of the larger hotels in Hakuba. We took a Japanese style room which was nice and spacious. The heating was excellent. The onsen at the hotel was nice. The outdoor onsen was charming especially the few times I was there alone. There is a nice, big and... More

Traditional Japanese hotel. A lot of Japanese staying here. Very quiet and we'll maintained. Most staff can speak a bit of English. Great breakfast. 5 minutes to walk to happo one chair. There is a bus shuttle from hotel too. Would stay here again.

We booked through Agoda and found the place to be quite good. The hotel is about 10minute walk from the centre of town where all the restaurants etc are and about a 20minute walk to the bus station. The walk is flat so with luggage on wheels there is no problem. However you may find it diificult to find if... More
