A 3 Star Hotel, that feels like a five Star Hotel! The rooms are huge, very traditional ( we had western mattresses on the floor - they were a bit uncomfortable but acceptable). The view from our room was magnificent - mountains, snow, snow and more snow! The bathroom had plenty of room to unpack your toiletries. There's a reasonable... More

This is my second trip to Hakuba to ski and I was pleasantly surprised and pleased with every aspect of the Hotel Goryukan. The staff are exceptional. The onsen soothing. The food delicious. The location excellent. The view from our room - gorgeous. The cleanliness was exceptional. I couldn't be more pleased.

Just wanted to say thanks to the guys at Hotel Goryukan in Hakuba. The front desk staff went out of their way to be helpful. And they were so cheerful! Really made our stay. The shuttle bus service to/from the bus terminal and or the slopes were so easy. (Not that everything wasnt in walking distance). And breakfast was good... More

We really enjoyed this hotel. It's probably a 4 star rating. But the smiling hard working staff make it a 5 star. The guys on reception are very helpful with transportation questions to the ski lifts, dinner reservations, taxis, directions and anything you need. They are always eager to help. These guys are front and centre at the entrance of... More

Great for families, we loved the onsen which was great after skiing. The rooms where a good size. Our bathroom was very clean and well presented.. Loved having the the fresh linen daily, and the crisp Japanese style gowns to where. The restraurant was great for breakfast withe a good selection of food.

I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. A free shuttle service is available for the Happoone Gondola & Goryu/Hakuba47. The breakfast buffet is very good, as is the lounge/bar. The rooms are quite spacious.

This was our first snowboarding trip to Japan. We booked the hotel because it looked good in the pictures and had good reviews. We took the Nagano Snow Shuttle from Narita airport - that's a whole review on its own - fantastic - like a bullet train on rubber tyres. I swear they had a nuclear reactor driving that thing... This is my first time in Hakuba so I took the effort to observe all the properties available for visitors when I took the shuttle between Goryu/47 Ski Parks to the Happon-one Information Centre/Bus terminal. Firstly, you must decide what is important ie near the ski slopes or centrally located for commute without relying on expensive taxis (I was quoted... More

We had a great view of the mountains from our room. The onsen was not bad, there is both indoors and outdoors. It was cute that they set up 5 jars of hotspring water outside the onsen with different effects (e.g. cure hangover, relieve muscle ache) for drinking. I enjoyed the drink buffet with my delicious dinner (think it was... More

We stayed here for 5 nights and it was really nice. Our room was huge and had a view of snow capped mountains and the Adam Gondola up Happo One. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and the shuttle service was really helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
