A real treasure of an inn. ALL the staff were hospitable, the family, waitresses, cleaners. Spotlessly clean and beautifully presented. We thoroughly enjoyed the use of the family bath with our 4yr + 6 yr old. It was too hot for the kids to go into the onsen bath but they immensely enjoyed the shower part and pouring water over... Could not recommend Hakuba Hifumi enough... We stayed in the beautiful Nagomi room which was really big for any hotel standard. The best service, food and location. Walking distance to Happo One and all the restaurants and bars. Tomohiko San even let us use his waxing iron to wax our boards and organised a courier for our bags to be... More

Hotel Hakuba Hifumi was a peaceful place to stay. The common area has been beautifully designed & decorated to give you a true sense of traditional Japanese spirit. We enjoyed a Japanese minimalist styled room with a floor seated lounge area that was turned into our sleeping quarters. I found it quite easy to sleep since I was exhausted from... More

An impeccable guest house, but what makes this place truly remarkable is the owner, Mr. Maruyama. He is always there and willing to help, from having our rooms all ready when we arrived really late due to flight delay, to booking restaurants and finding a taxi company that can tailor to our multiple requests. And when we forgot to book... More

We booked our stay via Japan Ski Experience who also organised our lift passes and ski gear so it was quite easy. As I hadn't used an agent before I contacted the ryokan directly after booking to confirm they had the booking. Maruyama-san confirmed he had the booking immediately which put me at ease. We had a standard room booked... More

What a wonderful place to stay and we will return. We opted for the larger room because we have a child and wanted the extra space. More expensive but worth it as we had a lot of layers to shed at the end of the day. Beds were comfortable and we particularly enjoyed the bathroom with the thermal springs plumbed... More

We stayed 4 nights in the Fuki room with outdoor onsen - definately worth the extra cost, so relaxing after a day on the slopes to look out onto the mountain. The room was spacious, clean and bed comfortable. The only slight negative is that like everywhere in Japan you can smoke inside and even though they do air the... More

Just as everyone else who has stayed here says -everything is superb and the staff so helpful. We stayed in the Hina room with the outdoor onsen. You can also see up to happo-one from the tub. It is an easy walk to gondola adam or just catch the free shuttle that leaves down the road. Free Shuttles leave all... More

When planning our honeymoon we got quotes via our travel agent for many hotels within Hakuba however nothing really stood out until I did some research and found the Hifumi... As I had found this hotel myself I was a little nervous about the choice! Well after staying at the Hakuba Hifumi all I can say is WOW! The staff... More

We were here in Feb 2010 and stayed in a standard Japanese room and had such a great time. This time we stayed in one of the larger rooms. This is just such a great stay! Tomohiko and the whole Maruyama family including his wife mother and children, Yuta, and all the people working there were simply fantastic and made... More
