We stayed here one night whilst walking the Nakasendo Trail. We can't rate this inn highly enough. All staff we lovely and helpful. Our tour operator had pre-booked this room and we were instructed to call from the train station to arrange a transfer. We were a bit unsure about this (as we don't speak Japanese), but we called and... More

We had a lovely stay at this big ryukan. It's located up a mountain valley from the small town, but it's remoteness gives it a certain rusticity and feeling of exclusivity. The staff hopped to attention when we arrived, insisting upon carrying our luggage into the building. We were then ushered to our rooms, which were spotless and beautiful. The... More

after a long day this place was luxurious. The Onsen was amazing with inside and outside baths. 14 courses for dinner, all delicious and a great breakfast. The rooms were more like suites and beautifully appointed. Staff were really nice and at 8pm took a group of us up to see the night sky. A view of mt ontake from... More

We stayed at this property as part of a group enjoying walking along the Nakasendo Trail. Transport was provided from the train station and the facility is just beautiful and so peaceful. Our room was large with separate seating area and private bathroom and the usual amenities. Lifts were available to rooms on higher floors. The Onsen was wonderful with... More

I have nothing but good things to say about this oasis of rest at the end of a long hike. It looks like I am echoing the positive things which have already been written in the reviews of this Ryokan by others who have been hiking the Nakasendo Way. The onsen is amazing, the food is delicious, and the staff... More

We stayed one night in April 2013 during our walk on the Nakasendo way, and this was our best accommodation experience in 3 weeks in Japan. The staff are wonderful and attentive. Pickup and dropoff at Kiso-Fukushima station is included and flexible. Just call them to let them know you are at the station. We had a room on the... More

I spent 1 night in this ryokan during my Nakasendo journey. I arrived by train to Kiso-Fukushima train station, and as agreed, called the ryokan. A young lady dressed in a kimono picked me up by car at the station and we arrived at the ryokan after approx. 10 minutes. The ryokan is located in a forest. There are 3... More
