> One of a kind Stumbled upon this hot-spring after keying "絶景の温泉" into Google and decided to try it. No regrets...awesome experience... Yes, bathing in salty, yellowish water felt a tad strange in the beginning, but not many places let you soak in a hot spring right by the edge of the Nihon-kai (Sea of Japan). This is a "Gan-Tetsu-Sen"... More

The outdoor onsen is so splendid, spectacular and romantic by sea view. It's pity that I cannot see the sunset but it's memorable. Dinner is great as well as breakfast. I was very lucky since the staff give me a drive to Shin Aomori. Thank you so much.

While this onsen doesn't have the rustic charm of the more traditional establishments it makes up for that with a Rotemburo (outdoor pool) which is right on the beach and get's amazing views of the sun setting into the Sea of Japan. All the rooms in the hotel have sweeping ocean views and are very sapcious (can hold up to... More

I totally recommend this onsen as you can soak by the sea and have an excellent view of the marine life at the same time. The day was cloudy so i wasnt able to get the picture perfect sunset you see in the tourist brochures but I can easily imagine how great the view would be - cloudy day soaking... More

Furofushi onsen. 不老不死温泉 Written in Japanese kanji, it means "no old no death" hot spring. Does that mean I've found the ultimate everlasting youth spring? Accidentally stumbled upon this onsen while I was surfing the net. The name was the one that perked my curiosity. Upon further research, this onsen is known for their  outdoor onsen situated right infront of... More

We travelled over 1000 kms to get here from Osaka, but it was worth every minute. We came by train, and there were a few tense moments when the shinkansen was late into Akita and the train to Furofushi Onsen was cancelled. We ended up on a local train, but my partner was disappointed in JR East's customer service. However,... More

All rooms are spacious and face the sea. There are three sections of hotsprings. The famous open air bath by the sea can give you an unforgettable experience, especially if you could watch the sunset.I was luckey to experience that, but before that I had to endure cold wind and occasional snow fall. If you want to be less adventurous, you can... More
