About 1km from the ancient town of Altomonte the hotel is a modern two story rather unattractive building on an adjacent hill. The views from the breakfast terrace are stunning. Good breakfast, free wifi but slow and unreliable. Staff are friendly and helpful and the restaurant is good. Plenty of free parking and excellent large swimming pool. There was a... More

The staff and family members of this hotel are exceptional, warm and welcoming. The Sunday brunch is fantastic; it is typical, homemade northern Calabresi cuisine. There are countless dishes so be prepared! The à la carte menu is also excellent. The location is in a lovely historical town on a hill not far from the A3 autoroute so makes for... More

We stayed here for two nights for a family wedding. The Barbieri family did the catering for the wedding which was held in one of their spectacular locations - Palazzo. It was probably one of the nicest weddings I have ever attended. The hotel was spectacular, with all of the amenities one could ask for. The views were amazing. The... More

We stayed a week in a villa in Altomonte and ate at the Hotel Barbieri twice. Food was out of the world as were the views. You cannot go wrong with anything you order. The price was incredibly affordable. If you need a place to stay, the room rates were extremely reasonable.

We stayed here in May as part of a Saga touring holiday. Altomonte itself is quite unusual - surrounded by lovely countryside, built on a hill, and very old; it is only 10-12 minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel is lovely and the family are so welcoming that nothing is a problem to them. Food was great, both breakfast... More

We stayed here for three nights on a coach tour. It has a great hill top location with stunning views (pity it was windy whilst we were there) there is a great terrace which we couldn't really use, but in the pool area it was more sheltered. The food was good and the round tables made the meal times easier... More

The hotel and property were amazing. A very nice change from other family run hotels. There is ample parking. The room was large even for a quadruple. The wifi was not strong in the room. The food was amazing and one of the best meals I have had in Italy after living here 2 years.

This fantastic family run hotel is almost beyond words. Our party war greeted by the owner, Enzo, and treated to a welcome glass of wine and the most delicious marinated figs, dried peppers and olives. The rooms vary in size but ours was adequate for the three night stay, again clean and well equipped. A good shower with rain head... More

We came to research my husband ancestry in San Sosti. Our stay was only for two days and as we were leaving we both stated that we now wished we had extended our stay for the rest of the week. The location of the hotel is an excellent area to explore a little visited area of Italy. We will definite... More

Even our cat was happy to stay in the hotel, recovering after long trip in a car from Moscow)) More seriously - hospitality and sunshine of Barbieri family will be enough for guests from the whole world! Barbieri's events are bright and very well organised, Laura and Alessandra know how to manage very complex ones with a smile. The kitchen... More
