My wife and I decided to spend a few days in Panama after completing an 8-day birding trip in another part of the country. We found this lodge on TripAdvisor with good reviews, and reasonable prices, and decided to stay here. Their website gives clear directions to the lodge. Make sure you follow them carefully. There are only 4 rooms... More

Manglar was our introduction to Panama. After renting a car in PC we drove the 2~ hours out to San Carlos. As others mentioned, it is easy to drive past the street that leads to the lodge--we did, but realized it fairly quickly, and with a good guess we ended up on the right road that wound down towards the... It is a very nice place, the grounds are beautiful, the rooms nice, the food good. The outside area is very peaceful and a great place to hang out after a day of sight seeing. The staff is very helpful and speak English. The location is a little tough for getting into town, it takes a while for a taxi... More

This is a great hotel, and not only for surfers looking to catch waves at the nearby beach, located only a few meters down the road. Manglar Lodge offers a welcoming atmosphere, clean rooms that are well decorated, spacious showers, and a bar/kitchen with delicious breakfast. For lunch or dinner, try something different and head down to the main road... More

a family with 3 young kids, age between 2 to 11, room is clean and comfortable with hot water, air-con and refrigerator. The restaurant offers good food. We enjoyed very much. Very good idea to have a outdoor shower to clean off all the sand before entering the hotel. good value and recommended. As mentioned by the others before, Ivan... More

Stayed here for a week's surfing trip. This place was great. There are only four rooms so it's really quiet. I think each room has its own private balcony. The lodge also has a cafe that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner plus a bar. There's an outside patio area that was nice to use in the evening. The rooms are... More

We stayed at Manglar Lodge over the Easter Holiday - we were worried that it would be busy and noisy but found that though it was busy during the day, at night it was wonderfully quiet. Ivan and his staff are fantastic. Great food, friendly service. Fantastic wifi connectivity and the satellite tv was a plus given that it rained... More

Great rooms, good food and a minute to the beach - what could be better? I stayed at Manglar Lodge for two nights back in February and found it to be a great place, just a small, quiet type of hotel that knows how to treat international travelers. I have to admit I was a bit frazzled from traveling a... More

Stayed at Manglar for 2 nights and proved to be a great location to use as a base to drive to the surrounding areas of El Valle, Coronado, Farallon and Playa Blanca. Very safe and clean hotel with just 4 rooms, located right off the beach at Playa El Palmar. Staff was very friendly, but somewhat English challenged. The food... More

We stayed at Manglar for two nights and it was great! We had a great room - very large an dclean. We enjoyed lunch, breakfast, and dinner at their restaurant and the food is great - some of the best we had in the area. A short walk to the beach - its a great location. Highly recommend!
