I travelled with two teenage daughters and 10yr old son. We all loved this part of our Japan experience. Felt like we were staying with friends. Kaori (restaurant staff) was kind and funny, sat with us for a while teaching my kids origami once they told her they liked it which was very generous. The food was eye-opening….we thought we... I stayed here with my wife and two children (ages 2 and 4) for a few days in December. It was the best vacation we’ve ever had. The hotel staff were unbelievably helpful, and made everything so easy. They picked us up and dropped us off at the train station, arranged transportation to the ski slopes and to see the... More

We stayed here on our visit to this beautiful area. This hotel is fabulous, from the moment we were picked up from the station, to the moment we were delivered back after our two night stay. The staff are so helpful and made sure we saw the best of the area. Taken to the snow monkey park and the ski... More

From the start of our trip and picking us up at the locan train station, to the trip back to Nagano Station to catch our shinkansen, we felt right at home. The staff was so friendly and took care of every need. They were incredibly attentive and made sure that our stay was as comfortable as possible. It was also... More

We were in Nagano prefecture for a week and decided to stay at Biyunoyado for our last night even though it meant for us to move from another nearby ryokan as I read about the good reviews for the Biyu. I am glad we made the effort as the reviews not only turned up to be true, we were simply... More

This place was amazing! Immediately upon arrival, they served us tea The staff were extremely friendly and always eager to help us out in any way they could. The hot tea provided in the room was a welcome treat after a day on the slopes. The dinner service in a communal setting was nice, as we got to connect with... More

This is a large good quality hotel about 10 minutes walk from the station in the centre of town. It boasts a large clean onset with both in and outside bathing including a jacuzzi. Meals are served in a large dining room instead of your room or other private area that you get in many ryokans. The food is of... More

We stayed for 1 night here just to enjoy the onsen. This ryokan is located at the far end of Yudanaka town. Approximately 15 minutes walk from the station (uphill route). It is a hotel-like building and 8 storeys high. It is located on a higher elevation in the town thus provided a panoramic view of Yudanaka. Our Japanese style... More

This was the last stop on our family of 4 adults' 10 day trip to Japan over the Christmas holiday. We arrived later in the day after touring the Snow Monkey park in Nagano. We splurged and booked the penthouse suite with the only private Furo in the hotel. The outside Furo has whirlpool jets and a television showing through... More

We were in Japan for the Christmas Holidays visiting our son (US Navy) and his family. We spent one night at the Ryokan Biyunoyado when we were in the Nagano area to see the Snow Monkeys. This is a terrific traditional Japanese hotel, where your accommodations come with an evening meal and breakfast. They offer traditional Japanese attire in the... More
