We arrived at the station and was greeted by an English speaking volunteer who called our ryokan to have someone pick us up. Mr. Kazu Watanabe not only picked us up but even offered to take us to Jigokudani Monkey Park and then pick us up again. The English speaking staff was very helpful in navigating our way around the... More

Loved our two nights at this very well managed ryokan. Beautiful setting, lovely traditional Japanese rooms, professional staff and fantastic food. Just a short drive from the Snow monkey park which was a great way to spend a morning. The hot spring bath in the hotel was fantastic. A great place to experience true Japanese hospitality. Highly recommend.

Great launching place for Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park visit. It's worthy of a trip on it's own from the hubbub of Nagano. Nagano was a winter Olympic destination in the past, so ski slopes are very close. Staff can't do enough, food is wonderful.

This review is a bit overdue, but we stayed about a month ago for 2 nights in this ryokan. From the outside it looked more like a modern hotel and was larger then I expected, but our room was done up like a traditional ryokan with tatami mats throughout. Bathroom and toilet were outside the main tatami area, so once... More

We have just returned from a group tour of Japan and stayed overnight at this very comfortable ryokan after an afternoon visiting the nearby Snow Monkey Park (see separate review). The staff were really welcoming and helpful. Our room was nice and clean with traditional paper screens and tatami mats, with an en suite toilet and bathroom. Traditional japanese kimonos... More

We are very happy we stayed here! We took the train from Tokyo and called them when we were on the last sector, and they were there to pick us up. We were able to check in at noon, and we had lunch then went with their 1:30 complimentary shuttle to the monkey park. The monkey park was incredible. They... More

Though we have traveled to Japan before this was our first traditional Japanese Hotel with Hot Springs stay. We had such a wonderful experience and are very excited to return with family and friends. The entire staff gave superb customer service! They were very warm and welcoming. The food was delicious with beautiful presentations. Our room had lovely Mountain views... More

We took the Snow Monkey train from Nagano around noon and arrived at Yadanaka station a little after one; with the shuttle service we got to the hotel in no time. The check in time was 3pm, but we decided to get to the hotel early to leave our luggage. The hotel provided shuttle service to the Snow Monkey Park... More

We stayed here for five nights as part of a guided ski trip. The ryokan is well located: only a 3 minute drive from Yudanaka station (to/from which the ryokan offers a free shuttle service), a 20 minute drive to the amazing Shiga Kogen ski area and a 10 minute drive to the snow monkey park. We stayed in a... More
