We enjoyed our stay in this traditional ryokan with onsen a lot! The service was excellent! Rooms were very comfy and spacious! Futons were nice and clean! The private onsen and the public onsen were really nice! It was very relaxing! Staff was very friendly with good english skills! Dinner was so nice with excellent ingredients ( local beef, feeded... When we went to Japan last April (my review is late, I know!), we were debating if we needed to have the "Ryokan experience." But after reading about it we decided to do it. We really wanted to see the "snow monkeys" so found this place. We are so happy we stayed at Jinpyokaku. It was a magical experience, we... More

This Ryokan was absolutely fantastic! from the spacious and traditional multi-room accommodation to the private onsen bathroom, it was by far the most traditional experience we had touring through Tokyo, Kyoto and Nagano. The staff were exceptionally attentive, hand-writing train timetables and dropping us off or picking us up at our convenience, so polite too and always with a smile... More

If you are reading this review and looking for a totally amazing Ryokan experience....book this!! We've tried good ones in Hakone and Kyoto but this is in a different league. We had an amazing room, private onsen and dining room. The service and food were absolutely faultless ever tiny detail and more taken care of. It's also a really pleasant... More

We just returned from 2 weeks in Japan and Jinpyokaku was our favorite place that we stayed- and that includes the Shangri-La in Tokyo and Tawaraya in Kyoto! The inn is simple but lovely. The staff could not be nicer and the food was the best we had on our trip! It is the ideal place to stay while seeing... More

My girlfriend and I stayed in this ryokan for only a single night – I wish we could have stayed the week! It's an incredibly beautiful property. Our room was spacious and traditional-style, covered in tatami mats with a heated table in the center (during the day; at night the table was stowed and futon were laid out for us).... More

We stayed 2 nights at the Ryokan in a very traditional Japanese room with Tatami mats and sleeping quarters. Even had bed warmers to keep us toasty warm. The package included breakfast and dinner which was a great experience each time with multiple courses and a taste extravaganza. No burgers and fries here. The service from everyone in the hotel... Stayed in room 106 one of two single type rooms above reception. Had FREE wifi--bi in the room which was a big plus. Interesting to describe. Enter a small foyer with a large sliding door closet which holds the tatami mats and luscious down blankets. Straight ahead is a short hallway--wash sink first, then toilet (heated) and straight ahead under... More

We had a wonderfully spacious suite, traditionally furnished and decorated, with a spa bath using hot spring water plus outdoor stone bath. There was also a shared open-air hot spring bath, one for gentlemen one for ladies, both of which were very well-appointed and enjoyable to use. We had a nice view over the garden of an adjoining property. The... More

In all of my Life, I have never stayed at such a wonderful, relaxing, amazing place. From Picking us up at the train station, to escorting us to the rooms, and showing us how to wear the traditional garb of locals, we were in awe and delight. I have never before, in all of my life, been treated with such... More
