Myself, my husband his sister & her husband stayed here for three nights and couldn't fault it. Steve & Wendy the owners are really friendly, nothing to much trouble. Our rooms were outside the pub, which we really liked. Clean, warm & tastefully decorated. Comfortable bed, which is a must for meThe location was excellent, central to everywhere we wanted... More

Camping nearby we had two meals on two separate nights. Excellent food home cooked. Plenty of choice on the menu with a specials board, great beer ...otter ale....and very lovely staff. We will return.

Friends had recommended The Talbot Inn for the last few years, we stayed for two nights and we had a great time, the rooms are clean, tastefully decorated and although near to the patio area you can't hear anything. Steve' s cooked breakfasts certainly filled you up. We ate in the bar both nights, home cooked food, I had steak... More

Had two nights here last week. The Owners, Steve & Wendy are really friendly and did all they could to make our stay enjoyable. Great selection of food and Real Ales at the Bar, and also free Wi-Fi. It had a friendly atmosphere and was popular with both locals and visitors, and we were made to feel welcome. Located just... More

We recently stayed at The Talbot Inn on our way home from Devon and couldn't believe our luck. We had booked 3 rooms for our group and have to say we couldn't decide which room was the nicest. The rooms are at the back of the pub and we were able to enjoy a drink sitting in the pleasant courtyard... More

Hi Susan C, Thank you for your lovely review! We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay - it sounds like you must have had the best of the weather when you visited! Our outside area is a real sun trap - but it does need the sun to be out!!! Steve was not at all worried about doing... More

An interesting country pub, access to units from car park is difficult, down steps, across a small bridge, then negotiate a pebbled courtyard. Not easy with a suitcase! Rooms are clean and functional but quite small. Access to the pub bar is via the courtyard and a flight of stairs. Steve and Wendy are friendly, helpful hosts. Food is good... More

Hi Alan h, Thank you for your kind words. I agree that with the pub being built on a hill, stairs can sometimes be an issue, that's why we always offer to carry your bags down from the pub to the rooms should you need help. As you also mention, there is a slope from the car park up to... More

Recently my wife celebrated a rather special birthday and we hired the Lyme Regis Power Boat for a party. Perfect venue, perfect position on the beach but what really made that evening so special was that we got Steve from the Talbot Arms to cook a lamb roast down at the Power boat club. It was cooked on a spit... More

Recently had the pleasure of visiting Uplyme to stay with my fiancees grandfather who lives 100 yards from the pub. The old gent is nearly 90 and the welcome, care and consideration that they show him here is spectacular. The lengths they go to in order to help him out is truly heart warming. The staff are wonderful, attentive and... More
