What a beautiful hotel. We stayed to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary. The owners and staff prioritize service. We wanted for nothing! The food was delicious. Rooms large , clean and rich. And our occasionally noisy but lovable Labrador was well catered for and given a lot of attention! We highly recommend this gorgeous family run hotel if you fancy... More

I hated my experience here. The decor reminded me of the Titanic and was dark and depressing. It felt like the setting of a horror film. The breakfast service was slow, so allow more than an hour. The only redeeming quality was the food at dinner, which was fantastic. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you like grim, hunting cabins... More

We cannot fault this hotel - my sister held her wedding here and the staff and venue were brilliant. It's old, it's full of charm and the owners make sure everyone is comfortable and well taken care of. The wedding took place at 2pm and we finished for breakfast at 7am the next day. If you're looking for a romantic... More

If you want to feel as though you have stepped back into a more gracious time, this is the place for you! We loved it. Peace and quiet, 4 poster bed, modern conveniences, and gracious dining. The hall is a gem - open fire, overstuffed chairs, relaxing space, and even a stags head over the fireplace. The staff are professional but... More

Nice family run hotel with excellent food and attentive staff, a bit surprised to find a log fire glowing in the reception lounge in August - but hey this is Scotland! Lots of interesting artwork and hunting trophies on the wall, if you like that sort of thing, am sure it will appeal to the N.American clientele. The breakfasts are... More

My partner and I stayed here on Saturday night with our black lab. Wish we were able to stay longer. Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff. It really was just perfect, can't wait to come back! Our black lab loved the coal fire.

You would be hard pressed to find a better place for a romantic relaxing break in Scotland. The main hall with its elegant staircase and giant fireplace is jawdroppingly beautiful. Indeed it feels as if you are stepping back in time to the Edwardian era. Our room was beautiful and the stunning views wouldn't seem out of place in a... More

My wife & I were invited out for tea by friends. The hotel has a lovely setting, very welcoming staff, a wonderful log fire and an extensive menu. The service was very good, the food was without fault - absolutely wonderful. I would recommend the hotel without question. We will go back soon, very soon.

we recently visited with friends from the U.S. The welcome was of traditional Scottish warmth with drinks served in nice crystal glasses in the comfortable bar. Although it was a warm evening one of our group, an elderly lady felt her legs were cold in the dining room, without being asked the manageress brought a rug for her lap. The... More

A lovely hotel, with friendly and helpful staff, motivated to encourage guests to enjoy their stay. A lovely 3 days! The hotel has a great ambience, with characterful public areas and well presented bedrooms.
