A lovely friendly bed and breakfast; Eileen and Bill are very hospitable. The room was of a high standard and the spa bath very relaxing after a days walking. I would readily recommend a stay at the Old Stables.

Just back from a 2 night stay. The room had everything we could ask for and I know my partner loved the spa bath. The wall paper in the room was a little flowery and not to my taste but that is only decoration and everyone has their own tastes. The bed was comfy and once again my partner loved... More

We stayed for one night only and had one of the "cottage" houses over the courtyard from the main house. Two bedrooms, one with ensuite and a living room and kitchen. the cottage was toasty warm and the beds/pillows comfy. It was all a bit flowery and dated for me but that shouldn't put people off staying as its only... More

We have stayed with Bill and Eileen for over 20 years and do not have one complaint. Accommodation, food and hospitality second to none. We sometimes have language problems as we are English, but we can't have everything, can we? We shall continue visiting while we have wheels and health or until they refuse us admission, which we know will... More

We have just stayed at the OLD STABLES for a weeks golfing at the Scottish Mixed Foursome Golf Week, Its fair to say that Eileen and Bill, the hosts go the extra mile, n othing is too much trouble. The accomodation was spot on and the food great, all local produce. In short we have already booked for next year... More

This was our first visit to the area and we cannot speak highly enough of the accommadation and the way we were catered for by the owners Eileen and Bill McBain. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms were ultra clean and all the fixtures and fittings were in excellent condition. The en suites were as new and... More

We recently stayed at the Old Stables with friends and a teenage daughter. This is an excellent b and b with a large ensuite bathroom. The bath also offers a whirlpool, I think, although to be fair it was not used during our stay. We had a four poster bed in our room with a television with digital tv and... More

We received a very warm welcome and our room was on the ground floor as requested for my elderly disabled mother. Our room was lovely and warm and the beds were very comfortable. The en-suite bathroom was spotless. Breakfast was as much as you could manage with a good choice to suit all. Bill and Eileen were great at advising... More

Stayed at The Old Stables in April 2012, when our daughter played golf in the Scottish Ladies U16’s event at Strathmore Golf Club. This is a fantastic place to stay; warm, welcoming and very comfortable, the owners Eileen and Bill can’t do enough for you, the rooms are bright, spacious and very clean, every morning a full Scottish Breakfast awaits...
