We just got back from an amazing week celebrating my 50th birthday at Khaya Umdani. Traveling from America the idea of living in the bush was totally foriegn to us and we had little idea of what to expect. What we found was a clean modern home in the heart of the African wild. What a pleasure to return from... More

My husband and I really could not have asked for a better end to our 2 week stay in South Africa. Khaya Umdani was the perfect house & jumping off point for our 5 day safari adventure! The house is located just a few miles outside of Kruger National Park in a private park called Marloth. Marloth backs up against... More

There were nine of us who werent related to eachother, yet the accommodation was perfect. We recieved a very warm welcome from Lurika our resident cook. The accommodation was suberb, the attention to detail and the facilities were super. Lurika and her husband were genuine warm and caring hosts who didnt get under you feet but were there if you... Just wanted to let you know that everyone in our party (11 of us) absolutely loved Khaya Umdani, it far exceeded our expectactions. We had the most wonderful 3 nights there, so relaxing (even the Groom to be was relaxed!!!)! Thank you everyone involved (Laurika and the cleaning staff) Kind regards Shannon Fitzhenry More

This was our second stay at khaya Umdani. Once more it was an excellent one. We had such an amazing, relaxing time in this lodge. Laurika and Louis, the caretakers, were so helpful and friendly, Poomi and Zjef took care of the beautiful house, prepared a fire each day, did the dishes, made the beds... The garden was again awesome:... More

This is not our first visit to Khaya Umdani/Romantica and definately not our last. What an awesome place. Besides being surrounded by the bush, which we love, the lodge itself is welcoming with alot of comforts. Louise and Danie are exceptional hosts and the lodge is beautifully decorated. We will definately recommend this lodge to anyone. We will be back! More

We reserved this lodge for a rather large group of 12 persons, and had an amazing stay there. Danie and Louise did a perfect job to host us, in an extremely nice accommodation. Rooms are very comfortable, and they have even an outside room, the "Safari Room" where you sleep surrounded by the sounds of the nature (note that this... More

The property was everything promised. The attention to detial by the owners was second to none. We reffered to the house as the magic house. We would leave a house needing cleaning in the morning and whenw e returned in the evening the house including laundry was done an food on the table never mind the fridge restocked with beer.... After having stayed at Khaya Romantica (another lodge in Marloth, also owned by Danie and Louise), we thought this was the ideal place for us to stay. But after having experienced Khaya Umdani, we now have two ideal places to stay. Just like Khaya Romantica, this lodge offers everything you need to enjoy a relaxing getaway. The way that the...
