We stayed over Christmas with our 8 month old baby and we couldn't have been made more welcome. The food was fantastic and the shared dinner table allowed us to meet and chat with the other guests. The lodge is cosy with very comfortable shared areas. Kruger Park is a 30 minute drive. However, there are wild animals walking around... More

We never experienced such a warm and sincere welcome in such a beautiful place very close to Kruger Park. A cosey living room is created in the middle of the beautiful Marlot Park where giraffes, zebra's and other animals walk around in freedom. Great chef, wonderful food, extraordinairy hospitality, very peaceful atmosphere. More

A great thank you to the owner-manager and staff of Maqueda Manor and Maqueda Lodge for an absolute 5 star experience! It was absolutely wonderful to return to Maqueda - to breathe in the tranquility of the bush, whilst also being very productive work-wise, escaping from the huste&bustle of the Concrete Jungle. I would recommend to any traveller to fly... More

My husband and I had an amazing time. The owner is absolutely amazing - worldclass chef and an opera singer too! He goes out of his way to make sure you are comfortable and taken care of. Definitely one of the best places we have ever stayed at! More

the lodge is very nice and the atmosphere is really romantic; the owners are very kind and do anything possible to make you enjoy your stay. Etienne and his mother are excellent chefs! The Kruger park is about 30 min. far and the Marloth itself is a park where you can meet giraffes, zebras, monkeys..... When you are travelling during... More

We booked out the entire lodge for a 3 day family celebration weekend. I can echo everything that has been said about this marvellous place and the extraordinary family that has created it, but there is also a symbiosis that is generated between them and their guests that is totally unique. It is as if they know what you want... More

Our Ngwarati Safris Host arranged all our places to stay and Maqueda Lodge was a gem of a find! An amazingly quaint and elegant home away from home. We were at ease at once from our all day Kruger travels. Etienne and his mom Joyce were wonderful hosts. The lodge was a jewel with it's unique furnishings and ambiance. The... More
