The Rose and Crown Inn is a lovely quiet in, and we had a great time there! We went there for a day trip because we were staying in thistledown just across the road, and we decided to explore the town, and the first place everyone wanted to was the rose and crown inn! It's a lovely inn for people... More

Stopped here after going round woodchester park - national trust. We had a spot of lunch in the beer garden at the front as we had our dog with us. The portions were very big making it very good value for money. The food was nice typical pub grub. Definitely worth stopping at if you are in the area looking... More

Stopped off here for lunch on a sunny day in the middle of a hike around the area. Garden lovely, and we all enjoyed the food. Pretty quiet, rather surprisingly for a weekend. So, the issue. It doesn't take much to smile does it? Do you really want to see the barmaid yawning away as you approach the bar? Two... More

Popped in here 17-5-14 for a light drink after searching out Neolithic stones and Barrows. Our dog was on her lead, was more than welcomed into the bar but, we decided to have a lite bite 'alfresco', the ploughmans and the baguette were very tasty, they certainly didn't scrimp and the cost was, I think, very reasonable. The middle of... More

Our walking group arranged to eat here mid week. We were going to arrive later than the time we originally planned but rang 10 minutes before the planned time and told them and the staff delayed the meal for half an hour with no problems. The atmosphere was good and the staff welcoming and accommodating. Our communal table was arranged... More

Very warm welcome from all staff and good freshly prepared food. We had lunch there after walking in Woodchester Park. It was so good we followed this up with an evening meal the following day. Dogs welcome in the bar.

Lovely 400 year old country inn. Owners really friendly and welcoming. Room spacious with comfy bed. Bathroom needs modernising, shower bit rubbish and just bit old and tired. Had a party in the pub the night before which was really fun - great venue for a private party. Breakfast was really delicious in the morning. Full English!

Superb pub in a lovely location and we were made to feel very welcome by staff and locals alike! We only had time for a light lunch which was really tasty, arrived promptly and which was served by very pleasant staff. I have already recommended this pub to both friends and family. My only complaint was that we were only... More

My father and I stopped here whilst completing the Cotswold Way. Following a particularly hard days walking we arrived muddy and bedraggled to the warmest welcome imaginable. The room was extremely comfortable, the food was of a very high standard and the selection of real ales was excellent. The following morning we enjoyed a fantastic full English breakfast which was... Today we enjoyed a lovely meal. I had the stuffed Portabella Mushrooms and my husband enjoyed the Steak & Ale pie...both with a generous amount of veggies freshly cooked. We will hopefully be visiting again soon.
