Popped in for a quick lunch. The beer is kept very well and service excellent. Ploughmans was a winner with locally sourced food and it was delicious. Even had a home-made pork pie! I would thoroughly recommend a trip here. It's a pretty village too and you can watch the gliders taking off from nearby

we were diverted to this pub by the falcon in Wotton Under-Edge where the chef was too ill with tonsilitis to cook lunch. It was a happy diversion to the sister pub (same owner) in the delightful village of Nymphfield. The beer (Cotswold Way from Wickwar Brewery) was excellent and a very reasonable £2.60. My wife and I both ordered... More

...and the service was very friendly. The food is very well presented and the chef definitely knows what he is doing. I had the "recommended" burger with the "famous" chips. I was wary at first but boy it was soo good! The garlic cheesy ciabatta is a colestoral busting delight. Having said that, although the special teriyaki salmon was tasty... More

Great pub, friendly staff and good service. The Sunday roast, the beef was local and tasted great, generous servings. Recommend to all. Worth a visit if just for a drink or something to eat, good menu with variety of choice and the pudding board looked yummy but didn't try any as too full from the roast

I cannot recommend this pub enough, we visited as two couples on a mid week Cotswold break. The service was outstanding and the food was divine (best steak and chips ever !). A lovely atmosphere with traditional fireplace charm.

Really excellent food but very slow service. Great if you have all evening. Steak was first class, local food, staff try hard and are very friendly , just slow . Will definitely return for the food. New owners making a positive difference. Four stars

Very high quality traditional pub grub in a beautiful cotswold setting. I had a fabulous plate of ham egg and chips (the chips were particularly good) and my friend had a delicious beef pie. The staff were very friendly and the service was very efficient. I'm definitely going back to try the rest of the menu, and the range of... More

Took friends here for Sunday lunch to try out the new owners. Had booked a table but sat outside in garden having a drink as we were a bit early. Hot drink took about 20 minutes to appear, after asking twice, and we had to clear away 2 huge dog poos from near our table. That said it's a lovely... More

Dropped in for a drink Sunday lunchtime. No room to sit and relax as tables in bar area occupied by, or reserved for, diners, although dedicated dining area had empty tables. Bar unattended for 10 minutes and also surrounded by drinkers. Eventually got served..real ale at good price..but only one on tap. Needs to be more drinker friendly and would... More
