Dropped in for a drink Sunday lunchtime. No room to sit and relax as tables in bar area occupied by, or reserved for, diners, although dedicated dining area had empty tables. Bar unattended for 10 minutes and also surrounded by drinkers. Eventually got served..real ale at good price..but only one on tap. Needs to be more drinker friendly and would... More

I thought the landlady was very welcoming and very friendly however the steak was like rubber so will definitely not be eating here again.on the plus side it is a nice dog friendly village pub in a lovely setting

This lovely old village inn has recently re-opened after being closed for about three weeks, the previous licensees having left. They should be serving good pub grub again by the weekend so please do drop by and give this lovely old coaching inn a chance. It is good for walkers on the Cotswold Way,close to Coaley Peak and Woodchester Park,... More

We didn't even stay here for food as the service from the girl behind the bar was appalling! Atmosphere awful. It says it all from a pub that has one table of 4 and the rest of the pub empty! Had already been warned that service and good here hasn't been great for a while but thought we would still... More

Just had lunch, after a fantastic walk at Woodchester Park. On way home to cook we thought we'd treat ourselves to a lunch at what used to be a good value/quality food pub. I can only liken it to the food service stations in the 70's would serve. I had pork and sage sausages with onion gravy; not something I... More

We had lunch in the bar. Very slow service. The food when it eventually arrived was terrible. The table was sticky and dirty. Decor tired and dreary. No redeeming features at all. Definitely one to be avoided.

The Rose and Crown Inn is a lovely quiet in, and we had a great time there! We went there for a day trip because we were staying in thistledown just across the road, and we decided to explore the town, and the first place everyone wanted to was the rose and crown inn! It's a lovely inn for people... More

Stopped here after going round woodchester park - national trust. We had a spot of lunch in the beer garden at the front as we had our dog with us. The portions were very big making it very good value for money. The food was nice typical pub grub. Definitely worth stopping at if you are in the area looking... More

Stopped off here for lunch on a sunny day in the middle of a hike around the area. Garden lovely, and we all enjoyed the food. Pretty quiet, rather surprisingly for a weekend. So, the issue. It doesn't take much to smile does it? Do you really want to see the barmaid yawning away as you approach the bar? Two... More
