We visited this pub on steak night and disappointed to be told there were only 2 steaks left at 7.30pm.. And if we were to order quick they wouldn't be snapped up by the other table who were just about to order.. We decided to order off the main menu to be told by the waitress that there was also... A small hotel in the middle of nowhere. 4 rooms in a nicely restored pub from the 19th century. The owner and chef is very friendly. The rooms we stayed in were small but comfortable and clean. Every evening the pub and restaurant were fully booked. The food was very good. On the menu was enough choice for every taste.

All staff lovely & v.helpful, looked after my bike for the night (had it ready for an early start), decent car parking, rooms great (I stayed in room 1 and it was fab, room 4 was also good although a tad hot but my parents in their 60s stayed there!) food great (evening meal & breakfast) & good choice of... ... But would stay again. My normal place to stay was fully booked so I booked this one. It is small quaint an friendly. The food is spot on. I will definitely stop here again with work and might even break my golden rule and come for a leisure stay.

What a find this place is. Stay in one of the four rooms above the pub, all different and then you only have to crawl up the stairs after eating fresh food cooked with a twist and drinking fine wine and great local beers. Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of different places to eat from the dining room at the... More

Stayed on a Wednesday night. On arrival our hosts told us it was 'Steak Night' so we booked a table for later.... If I could buy a season ticket for Steak Night I would! Fantastic food served by friendly, chatty staff who shared a joke, had a laugh and added to the evening on all fronts. Cosy, comfy, clean and... More

We stayed one night, our room was very clean and comfortable, everything had been thought about in the room. We booked a table for our evening meal, we both opted for steak, and we both agreed that the meal was one of the best we have had for a long time. After our meal we retired to the bar where we received a... More

We stayed at this 17th Century Inn last night as we were attending a family event. The room was clean and very comfortable. The welcome we received was warm and friendly and the breakfast ths morning, probably the best I have ever had. Well recommended.

We have stayed twice now at this lovely pub. A family business with a great team. Location is in a quiet village so no traffic noise. Supper in the bar was excellent , just the ticket. There are special menu evenings which fun in the village. Book early as there are only a few rooms and it is popular !
