A very nicely presented country pub, we were made to feel welcome from the minute we walked in. The food was amazing and at marvellous prices, good selection of wines to accompany your meal. Next time I drop in will hopefully be booking a room as they too look fantastic.

We have just returned from an overnight stay, dinner and breakfast here, with a group of friends and we have all been very impressed with our visit. All 3 rooms, situated in a group of cottages connected to the pub, were comfortable and homely, in keeping with the characterful style of the building, and provided everything we could have asked... This is a charming well kept hotel with individual homely rooms with high quality furnishings that make it a very nice place to stay. The breakfast was ok, although the quality could be improved, for example 'freshly squeezed orange juice' was definitely cheap from concentrate stuff. The few staff tried to be pleasant but clearly were too busy to give... More

Visited here for our wedding anniversary and all in all was lovely. We had a superior plus room, which was fantastic for relaxing, huge spa bath that was perfect for a lovely evening in. The food was fabulous, we both had steak, which was perfectly cooked , and well portioned. The main let down was the staffing. While the landlady... More

We stayed here for two nights midweek. The main meals on weekdays are half price which meant the restaurant was very popular. However, the service was good and we were very pleased with our food. The first night I had the crab and smoked salmon starter which was delicious followed by the lamb chops, also very good and my husband... More

We stayed here with friends and family over two nights including breakfast and dinner, yet the management simply couldn't be bothered with us. In fact no one even greeted us when we arrived we had to wander around looking for someone. When we shown to our room, it looked nice initially (personally teddy bears on the bed in a b&b... More

We were really looking forward to staying at this hotel, looks stunning from the outside but that's about the best it gets. The service is shockingly poor, the quality of the meat they use is sub standard (probably get a better quality at a fast food establishment) and the menu is over priced for what you get. Lyddington is a... More

We booked late and got the last room available, so we may not have seen the best room but we loved it. We loved the small touches like home made shortbread in a jar, the soaps and shampoos as well as really comfortable beds and the peace. Dinner was good pub grub and wine list was very good. We stayed... More

Stayed here for 1 night on a business trip. The welcome was warm and friendly. I had a split level room in the courtyard - it was very nice. Clean, well appointed and with some lovely homemade shortbread on arrival. The food in the pub is excellent. Dinner was great value and the cooked to order breakfast was one of... More

Excellent room, excellent restaurant, wonderful traditional pub feel and impeccable service all in one of Englands prettiest villages. Nothing to fault and proper value. There are boules rinks in the garden for fun or serious games and ample parking. The whole area is like (better than?) the Cotswolds. Astonishing Harringworth viaduct nearby over the Welland Valley
