Been here many times and loved it every time. Set in a beautiful village The Old White Hart is warm and welcoming with a lovely garden to sit and enjoy the sunshine. The food is great value with the menu being half price during the week there is still a wide variety and portions are generous. There isn't a children's... More

Wonderful luxury room in separate cottage to pub so quiet and private. Huge bedroom with TV, wifi and ensuite bathroom with spa bath. Lovely food in restaurant, good sized portions and well cooked. Amazed that prices were halved due to a promotion for weekdays in August. Full English breakfast, again large and well prepared. Makes a good base for visiting... More

This little pub is very pretty and has lovely surroundings. My friends and I went in the afternoon but there was no lunch menu so the main meals were a bit too much if you're looking for a light lunch. A couple of us ordered homemade chips with our meals and one of the portions hadn't come out so we... More

We noticed lots of Flies coming from the upstairs area, however what we also noticed was the food was coming from the upstairs area, my friend popped upstairs briefly for a look at the upstairs restaurant area, kithcen door was wide open could see the unclean floor overflowing bins, possibly hence the amount of flies. Think it was the landlady... More

Lyddington is a very beautiful village retaining its architectural integrity. Unlike its local competitor the Old White Hart has been redeveloped and expanded in keeping with the environs. We were in the family room i.e. 2 rooms plus en suite in an old alms house. It was definitely quirky but less than the very high standard of the 'superior rooms',... More

I have been to the White Hart before and had a good meal; the pub is well situated, in a beautiful part of Rutland. It was a hot evening and they were very accommodating about getting us an outside table. What let them down was service and attitude. All the starters were excellent, it is fair to say, and the... We called in some months ago but too late for lunch. My husband has been eager since to visit because of the Monday to Thursday half priced menu. The menu choice is vast and the portion size just perfect. However, my suspicion mind is in over drive! I wouldn't want to pay the full asking price for the main course... More

Had a 3 night B & B stay at this delightful pub/hotel with group of friends (10 of us). Immediately realised this place was quite special set centrally in lovely rural village of Lydington. Run by husband and wife Stewart and Holly who were superb hosts - nothing was too much for them. We booked dinner on our first night,... More

My husband and I had the Bede room for our treat, it was my retirement gift from my boss, 2 nights b&b plus meals. We had the most amazing few days. Our room came with a massive Jacuzzi which I have to say we made full use of. We had a lovely room which also came with a shared lounge.... More

Our room was the upper storey of a former terrace house dwelling adjacent to the hotel. Nicely furnished in a pleasant rustic style with all mod cons including our own teddy bear for the night. The village is quaint and picturesque. Mine host is (I suspect) a former butcher and he is extremely affable and obliging, and a first class... More
