I didn't stay at the hotel but called in for food. The place we were going to go had a long wait so decided to come here on the off chance and were very pleased. Food was lovely and not overpriced, wide selection of drinks and staff were attentive. Will definitely come back!

Only stayed for one night, however the food is very nice, but if you are tall and i wish the staff would think about this, don't put someone down in the restaurant with the low beams who is tall and likely to bang their head when there is plenty of room in the upstairs restaurant, a bit of common sense... My husband and I stayed here in May 2014. We were really pleasantly surprised and on our subsequent travels in the south of England we didn't find equivalent value for money in our accommodation. The food in the quaint pub was very good and the service excellent. While the rooms need a refurb (and apparently this is happening) they were... More

Visited here on 12th June a friends leaving meal, plenty of room outside in the sun, when I went to the bar I had to duck under the beams a close ouch. But all in all the place is well presented, we had food and drink which was on the table quickly and very tasty, I did not feel the... More

This is a good pub and the large outdoor area is great on a sunny day but I just think it is overpriced for what you get. The food and service is good but for the same price at somewhere like the hand and trumpet you would get a lot better. On the other hand the Elephant in Shavington is... More

We visited The White Lion following a recommendation. It was a fairly quiet, wet afternoon and it felt a little chilly indoors despite it being early June! The decor is lovely, just the sort of place we love to visit. The beer was good and the food was reasonable. The crispy falafel was a little dry and the haricot beans... More

Recently stayed at the White Lion Hotel on a business trip, we were very pleasantly surprised on entering the pub/restaurant. Looked very lovely. In fact, we enjoyed had a superb meal and drinks during the evening of our stay. Couldn't fault it. Our room was - number 1, we found fine, seemed to have everything you expect for £60 and... More

We drive frequently from Scotland to the south of England, on the M6, and are always looking for a comfortable stop off to break the journey. This time we chose the White Lion on a busy Friday night. It's just a few minutes from the M6, and easy to find, with plenty of well lit parking. Unfortunately we arrived a... More

This pub is an old established one in our village and in the past had a brilliant reputation, this was destroyed by previous landlords but now it has been revived back into the best restaurant for money value in Crewe! Excellent food, beautiful surroundings and great service, Welcome Back the White Lion!!
