Food and service is particularly good. Creative menu and judging by the fact that the restaurant is always busy, I can't be the only one who thinks so. A fine range of real ales. Lovely beer garden too. Rooms recently renovated too, all of which makes choosing to stay at the White Lion a very easy choice!

Stayed here for one night while Tom Jones was in town! The Hotel is a listed 16th century building and the rooms are quite dated, but clean and comfortable especially the bed..I was a little cold when We arrived and the staff kindly put the heating on.. We ate in the Restaurant which was nicely decorated before setting off for the... More

Stayed overnight on business. Hotel looks a little run down from the outside and in the corridors. My room was fine, it looked like it had some updating, curtains, light shade. It was "tired" but clean and the bed was comfy and the linen was nice quality. Bathroom could definitely do with an update. Had food in the evening and... More

My local pub so have visited many times. Called on Saturday 15th August to meet friend for a cocktail, decided to stay to eat. Sword Fish Salad & chicken Salad, both excellent. Attentive and professional manager and waiting staff. Thanks, see you again soon.

Went for Sunday lunch, extensive menu, but we had the Sunday lunch. To say it was lovely, it was superb, lovely meat (beef, turkey, pork and lamb), not a carvery, it is bought to your table, along with veg and roast pots that very the best I have tasted. Not the normal run of the mill Sunday lunch as at... More

Great pub, the salopean beer is fab. Recommend the Shropshire Lad for a great beer. Other real ales are available. Also a good selection of lagers. Wine selection is also very good. Food served is of a good quality, portions could be a little larger for the prices. Speciality of the house are the pies. But some nights they have... More

Recently stayed in room 17 and had dinner and breakfast. I have to admit that the fish pie was very tasty but it came out nuclear hot, which was a shame as it over cooked some of the fish. It could have been excellent! It was certainly a good sized portion. The rooms are small and functional but I was... More

I recently visited the White Lion with my elderly parents for a pub meal. Because my parents can not eat big meals it was a nice surprise to see on the menu the choice of smaller meals. The food was superb and my parents thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were very polite and friendly. Just one criticism is that I... More

Booked B/B for one night room very tidy although the bathroom was a bit on the small side but ideal for one night.Breakfast first class service very good.We also had dinner when we arrived with the rest of my family before they went home no problems with the food and the prices would definitely visit again.
