There is a substantial gap in quality between the hotel and the restaurant in the same premises. The restaurant is excellent and fancy but the hotel rooms are, again, an old place that was quickly upgraded with such items as a flat screen tv and decent sheets. But apart from that, these are quite basic rooms. Fridge was noisy and... More

Stayed here for two nights during a recent business trip to New Caledonia. The hotel is right on the main highway into town but my garden view room was very private and quiet however I should image the poolside rooms would be susceptible to noise from both the road and restaurant and bar at night. Whilst the room is small... More

Amazing: 1) service (waiter, wifi, flexible on clothe washes), 2) food (world class a la carte, design dish, outstanding tastes, wine list),3) Design (new refurbished restaurant with superb and afordable local art on sale, pool and room of very nice quality too). Well done North Province!

Enjoyed our stay at the Balinese-style hotel. Good pool and dining room, very helpful and pleasant staff. The small garden is a delight. We stayed in a really pleasant poolside room with good aircon, a fridge would have been a great asset for the water bottles. We plan to return to enjoy the ambience at our leisure. thank you everyone,... More

Nice little hotel with good and clean rooms. The best rooms are the garden bungalows (whereas the upper rooms are better) which are settled in a beautiful garden. They have a fantastic restaurant with a great choice of good vines. The restaurant isn’t cheep but compared to many others we tried, it has the best price-value ratio.

It's quite easy to see that whoever built/designed the Hibiscus Hotel did so with a lot of care and attention. I would describe the place as quite chic and stylish - much more so than I expected for Kone. And, by the size of the dinner crowd and that you need to make a reservation for a table, I'd say... The reception, restaurant and patio with superb swimming pool and hot tub set the standards to very good. However, the hot tub was not in service and the 45 min wait to get your dinner served set it right back to average... A shame considering food was generous and very good. Now the standard room is really standard and maybe... More

Location: Located next to Kone city center. Other than that, I do not know what is there to do here in Kone. Did not do more detailed research except that Kone was the next biggest city after Noumea from the map. Room: Very basic. I boooked the cheapest one available, but it turned out to be the most basic and... More

On arriving from NZ, the Hibiscus Hotel was our accommodation for the first 3 days in Kone. I dont know what it cost as the engineering company footed the bill. "Expensive" was the word my husband used. But everything here is expensive! From the outside, the Hibiscus is nothing spectacular, but its internal garden is beautiful. We had a garden... More
