My wife and I stayed at the Chateau on Saturday night en route back to the UK. The chateau is a stunning building set in acres of beautiful parkland. We had a room on the 2nd floor with great views of the park. The chateau has a slightly jaded feel to it and seems to be in need of refurbishment.... More

On our way through France we stayed at Chateau Curzay, it was a great experience! Lovely staff, very helpfull and very friendly. Also the reception staff is really very friendly! The Chateau and the surroundings are so exeptionally beautifull, like a fairytale. Great food and breakfast. Thank you for the great time we had at your Chateau!!

Chateau is very pretty and in a truly stunning location. Walks on the grounds are highly recommend. It has a small pool that -weather permitting- would also be lovely to spend a few hours. Service is good and friendly. Downstairs salon is very nice (with fireplace, billiards table, bar...). Breakfast is good (not spectacular) but comes at -in my view-... More

We stayed over night on our journey south. The staff were welcoming and the accommodation clean comfortable and spacious. The food was excellent. The only problem was that the white wine was served at room temperature. Apparently they had a problem with the freezers. The young staff coped well. The only problem seems to be that the owners concentrate on... More

The hotel was amazing, the staff attentive and welcoming after we just drive past and asked for a room. We Enjoyed a lovely lunch in the garden, to allow our bubby to crawl around for my birthday which was excellent. Dinner was fantastic and service impeccable.

We're stayed a few times in the chateau over the years. It changed hands a few years ago and has never been quite as good. However, the way we were greeted, the quality of the room, the setting and grounds all continue to charm. However, the big disappointment was the meal. We chose the brasserie meal, which was taken on... More

We stayed in Chateau de Curzay for one night. We were looking a nice place to stop on our way from Aquitaine coast to Paris. We didn’t have a big choice of chateaus since we made last-minute booking in August. Michelin Guided restaurant was preferable so we decided to go there. It was really hidden place (even if you have... More

My rating would be a 5 if the bedrooms and bathrooms had been brought up to the expections of the modern traveller. A bathroom as big as modern British semi ought to have a large separate shower. Indeed if our stay had been for more than one night I would have asked for another room. Making up for all of... More

On arrival the maids and footmen stand outside to take one's bags and park one's car setting the tone for an Epicurean delight. Tasteful rooms with squeaky floorboards with a great view out over the park. Charming swimming pool with lush laurel hedging against any breeze or prying eyes. Outstanding food and service in a marvellous location, what more could... More

It all looked so gracious, elegant and beckoning: gift-wrapped in ancient stone, heavenly proportioned and highly endorsed by the Relais & Chateau Hotel Chain, and by its own Management. Although expensive, that was fine: we do expensive; but we did not expect that the Chateau de Curzay, in its remote location in fields near Potiers, would be the most expensive... More
