Should you venture to this most amazing part of Ireland, this is the place to stay for so many reasons. The owners and staff are amazing and so helpful, the food is great and so central - you can walk everywhere. If a little further there was always a taxi available. Such a beautiful in so many ways!!!

Myself and my partner stayed for 2 nights for a friends wedding, staff were excellent, could not do enough for you. Christ on the main bar was excellent at his job, could not do enough for us, a real credit to the hotel, will be back for another stay :)

Such a friendly welcome, very family friendly, lovely rooms and breakfast was great! The bar food is excellent as well and the staff can't do enough for you . It's is right next to the most fabulous beach, highly recommend a stay here if you are in the area.

We stayed here in mid July for four nights. Had a very enjoyable stay. Hotel was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good and we enjoyed two dinners as well. Friday and Saturday nights were noisy outside but I cant blame this on the hotel. So beware Friday and Saturday night in summer anyway. Though the noise didn't ruin... More

Couldn't recommend this hotel. I asked for a quiet room as I prefer to go to bed early, instead I got a room with a very noisy fan from the kitchen below. I was told the fan would be switched off by 9.15 every night. The first night I had to ring down at 9.30 to ask for the fan... More

This was my first time in Downings and it's a very picturesque area with beautiful sea views. The hotel is in a good central location and it's easy to get around - plenty of signposts My opinion of the hotel is more mixed. Some if the staff are great, very friendly but a couple of sourpusses let the place down... More

18 of us had a wonderful stay at The Downings Bay Hotel. The staff and hotel were amazing, very accommodating, warm and friendly - especially our host Eileen. Enjoyed great golf at the nearby links of Rosapenna. Beautiful location, food and rooms were excellent and great value for money- we will return! Dermot F

THis hotel has a very noisy disco during the weekend so make sure your room is not above the disco room. Another misleading thing is the spa facilities which are not in the hotel but located a few minutes away, so do not envisage putting on your robe and nipping downstairs to enjoy these facilities. Apart from that it is... More

We stayed for two nights in July. Unfortunately, one of these coincided with Nathan Carter's concert and was manically busy. The other was a Friday night and the screaming and laughing from the road outside continued until 4.15 a.m so not a great night's sleep for me. The room was spotless with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was equally clean... More

Stayed at the Downings bay for 2 nights early July 14. Whilst playing a number of local golf courses. Found the en suite bedrooms to be of a good size, clean, and modern. By contrast the TVs are rather small. Good food at a reasonable price, breakfast room and dinning room pleasant as are the hotel staff. A good value... More
