Stayed in this hotel recently for a golfing break, and from the time we checked in till our departure two days later ,the food, the service and all my interaction with the staff was most satisfactory. We had a beautiful room looking out on the bay and as an added bonus the weather was very good. We played both golf courses and the... More

I spent four nights here as part of a golf package: four nights plus breakfast plus four rounds of golf. The pricing was tremendous. No complaints. The hotel was more than adequate. The rooms are clean and very spacious. The staff is quite polite and somewhat formal. The public areas are beautiful. The outside looks like a Motel 6. The... More

Went on a special golf deal. Two rounds of golf and B&B. We also ate in the restaurant. The food was excellent and the breakfast was particularly good! There wasn't much atmosphere in the bar but it was a Sunday night to be fair. The room was absolutely brilliant, the hotel is furnished much better inside than it looks from... More

The Rosapenna do a set menu Sunday lunch with non residents welcome. We ate there in July with our 3 teenagers. All of us had a lovely lunch, tasty with huge potions. The food was fresh and the service friendly and efficient. The setting alone, perched above Downings Bay is worth going for.

Had to pay 60 euros extra for my daughter , we were in a delux room. No extra bed 3 of us cramped in 2 small beds. Also she never eats breakfast so I thought this was a very unfair charge. Not a family hotel, she was very bored...but did like the pool

Stayed here recently for 2 nights. Hotel is a comfortable resort hotel. The Sandy Hills course is excellent, the Tom Morris is quite good. I enjoyed both but if I returned I would play Sandy Hills twice. The food in the hotel restaurant was pretty average. We had a great meal at the Olde Glen Bar, south of Carrigart, a... More

Stayed to play the golf courses, was really pleasantly surprised by the hotel and amenities- this is an old school type of resort, a smaller version of White Sulphur Springs, French Lick, Kohlers, or Greenbrier- Excellent accomodations, country estate type of furnishings, seperate large reading lounge, comfortable bar, very nice dining room- fixed menu, but all was excellent- very attentive... We stayed here on for two nights on 20th and 21st July for our wedding anniversary. We got upgraded to a deluxe room which was fantastic with a great view of the harbour and beach. Both golf courses, ( The Old Tom Morris and Sandy Hills Links ) are immaculate and the views incredible. The Sandy Hills Links is more... More
