With two small children under 4 we had a wonderful 5 nights in the Downings coastguard cottages. We even had the best weather of the summer in this idyllic location, near all sorts of wonderful sandy beaches. The cleanliness of the house was superb and we had friendly, helpful service from Seamus- including lots of tips on things to do... More

Just returned from a week's stay at Coastguard Cottages and had a wonderful time. The Cottages were everything you could wish for a relaxing holiday, they were spotless and had all amenities anyone would require. The views from the conservatory were superb. We toured every day and the scenery is stunning. We had our 2 German Shepherd dogs with us... More

We stayed at the Downings Bay cottages for the second time on the last week in June for a family holiday. Having satayed here 3 years ago we returned to the same cottage as before and the second trip was still of the very high standards as the first. Seamus the manager was so helpful and friendly he really looked... More

we stayed in the type d house over easter. the weather was great and the children loved the circular house as they could cycle around it. My son even learned to ride his bike because of it. a big milestone. the location is great and the house had all the mod cons to survive away from home and would have... More

We have just returned from Ireland where we explored a good bit of the country. Far and away our favorite stay was at the Downings Coastguard cottages. We only were able to stay for two nights and three days but if I had it to do over again I would have booked for at least a week. The cottage we... More

The Downings Coastguard Cottages were a wonderful place to stay for a long weekend. They are just a few minute walk from the village and beaches, across the street from a golf course, and most have gorgeous views of the bay. They are also within minutes by car of some of the most amazing scenery I have ever seen from... More

It was the second time I came to Rosapenna and the second time I was staying in one of the Downings Coastguard Cottages. Since I wouldn't like to reiterate all that one of the other reviewers has already listed in her review I will just say that the place is one of the best holiday places I have been to... More

We decided at quite short notice to go away for a whole week at the beginning of March but also wanted to take our two small dogs. Since we had rented from DreamIreland before I checked their website for pet-friendly accommodation. The Downings Coastguard Cottages in Co. Donegal came up and we rented one of the "Type D" cottages. There... More

Downings Coastgurad Cottages offers top class self catering accommodation at great prices. The accommodation is very modern however still has a very warm and homely feel to it with plenty of space. Downings itself is a must stay place if you are visiting North Donegal, with great golf courses only down the road from the cottages, great food in abundance... More
