The views are just amazing, the hills are purple tinged with heather and there are stunning sea views. The air is clean, the sea is clear. There are many, many long sandy beaches nearby with very few people using them. It's a great place to get away from it all and there's plenty to do. The weather was great and... More

Our family of 2 adults, 3 teenagers and a dog spent a week here in August 2014 in a Type A house. The house was fully equipped, clean and comfortable. Plenty of space for us all. The complex is on a hill overlooking Downings beach. Absolutely fabulous view. It's about a 15 min walk down to Downings but there's no... More

What a great holiday we had in Downings. Just back from a weeks stay at the coastguard cottages. We were In type A and it more than met our needs; it was spacious, spotless, comfortable and had everything you could want. The view of the bay was stunning, so much so , that we didn't turn the TV on once... More

We were a group of two couples and stayed here over the Easter break. The cottage was beautifully prepared with everything you could possibly need including free wifi. The rooms are all well equipped and the house was warm and cosy. Views over Downings bay are gorgeous and sitting in the dining area/conservatory for breakfast and dinner was just lovely.... More

We were a family group of 27 from the 20's thru 60's with one 12 year old. We were only able to stay 2 days but these were excellent cottages. We stayed in 6 type C cottages and were a village unto ourselves. They even made sure there were hair dryers in each cottage (a number 1 question from all... More

The Coastguard Cottages accommodation was our base for a week's holiday for the entire extended family. Three generations in 4 cottages (types B, C and D). The cottages are all very spacious, clean and well-kitted out. A nice touch is the ample supply of wine and beer glasses, very handy for gatherings in the evenings. Verity and the team are... More
