stayed recently in Trá na Rosann, to unwind and de-stress, the hostel is set in beautiful surroundings, its in a fantastic location to get away from it all and relax. The hostel is located on the Rosguill Peninsula, the scenery around Trá na Rosann hostel can only be described fantastic and all I can say is I had no complaints... More

Amazing Stunning Donegal North Ireland setting. Basic comfortable, historical ( ask about that ! ), inexpensive, quiet, peacefull, friendly, warm very remote country hostel. Truly great walking and biking all around the hostel. Take your map and compass and take a few days to walk the wild Donegal headlands all around there. Secluded wild beach just 5 mins walk from the... More

I came across this hostel on internet. Read some reviews and like a fact it is the oldest hostel in Ireland opened since 1937. I stayed in this hostel for five nights. What I loved the most is its location. Very close to Rosses Strand (Yra Na Rossan beach) and other beaches. Nearest pub less than 3 km away. If... More

After 25 years I spent some days in this lovely hostel again. Very little has changed since my first stay here. A beautiful house, a great setting, great views, many hiking options, and a warm reception. I want to say thank you to the warden family, Ken and Ann, ant to An Oige, which keeps the house open to guests... More

When I arrived the hostel manager had just changed so things were not quite ship-shape but I still had a wonderful time as the new manager was very welcoming and flexible and helpful. The building itself was a country home once-upon-a-time and it shows - attractive rooms and communal areas and a great kitchen. Most impressive is the location near... More

One of An Oige's (International Youth Hostel Association) wonderful old buildings - formerly an old hunting lodge designed by Edwin Lutyens - a British architect who is known for imaginatively adapting traditional architectural styles to the requirements of his era - a basic hostel with a wonderful view to Tra na Rosann strand. No extras - the building speaks for... More

This part of Ireland is just beautifull and with truley stunning views. The hostel is perched up on the side of a hill where you can view some of the best beaches on the island. There was at least one on view from any of the windows of this fantastic building which was in fact designed by the famous English... More
