Probably the worst place we stayed in Sri Lanka. The rooms, food and trips are all very expensive (though that may be the same everyone in town), and the atmosphere is kinda unpleasant. The owner seems friendly but he was always trying to add on extra charges, & persuade you to take a tour with the guy stationed at the... More

We arrived in Tissa and found this place via a chap in the town but had seen it in a guidebook as a potential place to stop. We got a large room with fan and A/C for 4,000 rupees per night (approx $31 / £19) not including breakfast. The room was basic but very clean with a large bathroom and... More

This place is an organised Rip off - the food was the worst we have ever been offered anywhere inc. Sri Lanka, the staff were friendly, however the owner is not a good man - the price we negoitated for the room changed - it was already expensive - when we asked for our breakfast to be packed for the... We booked by phone this hotel to go to Yala park. We reconfirmed our booking the day of arrival with the owner, just to find when we arrived that they had no rooms available. They sent us in another hotel (hotel for you) very far away and were very pushy on selling an overpriced safari tour (6,800 lkr per person,... More

We only stayed one night in this hotel, as was just in Tissa for Yala safari. We found the owner to be absolutely lovely and extremely helpful in every way. The room was basic, but what is expected for the price. Sheets and towels basic quality, but clean. Fan in room worked well, but very noisy! hot water and shower... More

Had a great stay of 3 nights, and my only complaint is the price of the food in the restuarant..at least double of elsewhere on the island. However, the prices for food in the whole town were steepish anyway. The competition for safaris is intense..do your homework..decide if you want a "luxury" ( seats facing forward) or an ordinary (... More

stayed here for one night to see Yala and arrived early in hte day so spent some time in Tissa. The family that runs it is very nice, super friendly and the main man (Who happens to be blind) is lovely! He is a great character and the spirit of the place really. we desperately wanted to spend an afternoon... More

The hotel looks nice, but the rooms are poor. No hot water!!! The bed was uncomfortable and the sheets weren't clean. And above all - our money was stolen by one of the staff. We went our of the room for a few minutes (to check out), we locked the door, but we didn't lock our suitcase. Only when we... More

We stayed here for 2 nights. The rooms were clean and the staff very helpful. We can recommend Nalin as a driver for a safari to Yala. He might be bit more expensive (and a tuff one in the negotiations) compare to other drivers, but he did a very good job showing us Yala. Thanks to his experience we were... More
