This is the greatest place to stay! When my cousin couldn't walk stairs and get to the dining room, they set a private table for him with delicious dinner, candle/ambience and all! Rooms are immaculate and lobby and dining filled with art and antiques!

Elveseter is a very special place in the mountains of the Jotunheimen Nationalpark. It is located about 20 km far from Lom, on the way up to the glaciers. The landscape we could enjoy was stunning. All the hotel buildings are linked together by wooden passageways so you can protect from cold. Our room was clean and comfortable. Dinner wasn't... More

We stayed 2 nights in July while touring the Jotunheim Mts. Our room was toward the back of the sprawling complex, a large room with simple furnishings and a wooden balcony. No extras, but clean and worked fine. We did half board, eating dinner each night in the dining room, since it a long drive on winding mt roads to... More

We stayed here one night as a part of a tour group of Scandinavia. The area surrounding the hotel is absolutely gorgeous! We were lucky to stay in a room in the main building, and the room was more spacious than expected. It was quite bright in our room when first going to bed, though. I appreciated the history and... There is no doubt about the quality of the setting, the lay-out and the impressive story/history about this hotel, but the quality of the stay was mediocre. This complex of buildings is on the fascinating route 55 which borders the Jotunheimen national park, rendering its location very popular for hikers, skiers and other tourists. The place used to be owned... More

WE just spent two nights at the hotel and were among a handful of guests not on one of the for or five bus tours there. The setting is lovely and the hotel has charming public space, but the bus crowd was overwhelming. Dinner was terrible, the meat tasted like cardboard, there was no choice, and although the price was... More

Centuries old farm loaded with (classic) art. Rooms are cosy, small and a bit simple, but after dinner I bet you want to stay in the bar anyway. Dinner by the way was slighty disappointing. No buffet, no choice, and I already forgot what we got. But you won't forget the atmosphere of the hotel. And the road to it:... More

We stayed here one night on our way to the fjords. It was pouring raining but we could walk tom the dining areas and living rooms without getting wet. We hadna deliciousmdinner and breakfast with great food. Theynhad gluten free bread but no toaster. The room was recently redone. The double bed was comfy but up,against the wall so the... More

The down stairs areas are very cosy and comfortable. Sitting next to the fire was most pleasant. The room we had was very basic and small. Basically a painted, timber panelled, low ceiling box. No TV, No hair dryer, 1 plastic tub chair - backpacker level. The quality of the food at dinner was ordinary. Breakfast was terrible and very... More

We picked this hotel for the location in the Jotunheimen National Park, and it didn't disappoint. It was secluded in the mountains with gorgeous views. The friendly check-in staff upgraded us to the larger apartment since they were sold out (in May, for skiing!) The rooms were so charming, funky, unusual antique- Norwegian style. We loved all the different pieces... More
