A very standard room, much what you would get in a chain hotel such as a "Mercure", in the middle of nowhere at a cost of 177 euros for two adults and a child. I have come to the conclusion that, where B&Bs are concerned, because of the personal relation that is created with the owner, TA reviewers will give... More

A hidden gem in the little village of Abalos, near Lagorno, Haro... and all Rioja attractions and wineries. It's secluded, quiet, no traffic of any kind, and a part of the Bodega Puelles surrounded by vineyards. If you are looking for an escape and beautiful nature, while being close to Rioja everything - it's here. The hotel itself is totally... More

We've stayed here about 6 times according to Anne, and each time it's justs like seeing old friends. If we leave work in the up after work, we can get to Abalos by 2pmhving driven through the night to drive through france. The breakfasts are lovely and there is a local super market if you want to cook for the... More

A memorable trip within lovlely areas and perfect hosts. The only negative thing about the trip was that the only restaurant in town wasent avaible for tourist who was not staying at the hotel. But Jesus arranged så we could buy our own food to prepare in the wineyard. Even better accually.

Lovely rooms with stunning views through the birch trees, across the vineyards to the Sierra Cantabrias. Spa & indoor pool. Former water mill from 1700's, converted by the Puelles family to vineyards & bodega. Included winery tour & tasting was informative & walking the vineyards with Jesus gave insight into this labor of love. But the highlight was the Puelles... More

We wanted to visit La Rioja wine region in Spain and found this property to be the perfect location. Jesus gave us a wine tour within a few hours of our arrival with tastings of their delicious wine. The grounds and surrounding vineyards were gorgeous with beautiful fall colors. We had just arrived from two days in Bordeaux and La... More

We stayed here for one night in October before travelling about 10 miles to stay in another hotel in the Rioja region. We definitely wish we had stayed here all three nights! When we arrived around 8 pm, Jesus greeted us warmly and took us in for a wine tasting of his wines. We met another couple staying at the... More

We stayed here in September and were lucky to have arrived the day of a festival when all the bodegas in town were open, allowing us to walk from bodega to bodega to taste. What a blast. The hotel is nicely appointed, with a comfortable lounge. We had nice views out of the window, breakfast was quite good, with ample... More

Abalos, does not have a restaurant!, but the "Hospederia del Vino" offers six large Italian decor appointed rooms with access to a full kitchen and breakfast service comparable to hotels in the Napa valley area but at a bargain price! For dinner or Spanish lunch you have to provide your own food if you feel like you want to use... More

Our stay at Bodega Puelles was a highlight of our journey through North and Eastern Spain. If you are looking for a relaxing and wine filled stay then this is the place! This is an excellent and central location to explore the Rioja region by car. Jesus is a great host with his family and will make you feel at... More
