This must be one of the nicest, kindliest and friendliest of Paradors in the whole of Spain. It is not the most romantic or beautiful of the chain, but here you will find the Parador motiv of “Friendship, Quality and Legend” as it was for years. Nothing was too much effort for the staff, the food was fabulous, the room... More

A good place to stay in La Rioja and very good value for money, rating would be excellent if the service were better. Understaffed, which is understandable out of season, but could be mitigated if their systems were more effective and less bureaucratic, the receptionist had too many hoops to jump through when checking someone in, and the barman appeared... Stayed at this Parador for one night in transit between Santander and Barcelona. Very friendly English speaking receptionist. Dining room open till 23.00 hrs, food and service was excellent, bottle of Rioja cost effective at 14€. Very spacious room and excellent en-suite facilities. Centre of town with private parking everything a weary traveller would want, highly recommended.

Very good breakfast, including a good range of fresh and local food options. Very clean hotel. Very friendly service at the comedor: Rafa is an amazingly guest friendly waiter ! A lot of home made specialities. Not much to see in Calahorra: the old town is quite disappointing.

this parador is located on the border of Navarra and La Rioja. both offer nice things to do. the parador is ok but the top . the bar and restaurant offer the typical local food and drinks. the rooms are spacious but, as in all paradores, the beds are large but very hard. bathroom is top.

Great location and easy to find. Good parking. Staff all regg, eally helpful. We has 3rd floor rooms. Great views and beautiful creaky floors. Very clean and comfortable. Had a great meal in the restaurant, veal chop, fried egg, chips and a few padrons peppers. Really tasty. Wines are not too dear. We had a local red Tempranillo €10... light and... More

The hotel is very centrally located but difficult to access by car. The main access has been made a one way street and you need to drive around to find the access. It may have been our sat nav. Facilities were good and in keeping with the style of the parador. Easy walking access to shops and restaurants.

We loved this parador - beautiful furniture and sumptuous calming public areas. A very warm welcome and friendly check in. We spent some time in the garden before briefly exploring the town (not much to see unfortunately). Dinner was reasonably priced and tasty though we dined at around 8:00 and the restaurant was pretty empty. Breaqkfast was typical of other... More

We stopped here for only one night en route to Bilbao and enjoyed our visit. The internal décor is typical of paradores and is of a high standard, although I do agree with a previous reviewer about the very creaky floorboards. As we were on the top floor, this was not a problem for us, but it could be a... More
