I stayed here this week with my husband and two children, both rooms were beautiful and very clean. The old world style to the rooms makes it a special experience with loads of character I think I took more photos of my room than of the scenery ( which was equally as impressive). All the staff were lovely and welcoming... More

Been here several times to eat only cannot comment on hotel aspect only the bar and restaurant areas, the furniture is very rustic and could hardly be described as PLUSH, however don't be put off, the food is very good, with a reasonable selection at a reasonable price. Well, recommended.

Lovely pub in the south lakes. With friendly staff it was a real hub of this rural community. Welcoming to dogs, they stay overnight and can eat in the bar. Walks up Whitbarrow on your doorstep, Latterbarrow nature reserve at the end of the road.

Stayed here for one night for a wedding nearby. Thought it was a lovely little hotel, clean room, nice decor and good price. Breakfast was lovely the next day and although we didn't have an evening meal there the food looked really good! Also the staff were really nice an helpful!

Just back from a lovely overnight stay at the Derby Inn. Not really knowing what to expect we could not have been more delighted. A lovely welcome, friendly staff and locals, lovely homemade food. Don't let the small menu put you off, as the food was really good. And the breakfast, well, perfect. A choice of cereals, cold meats and... More

Why check before you book? Well once a month there is live entertainment in the bar until 11.30 p.m. The night we stayed there was a rock band on which for us was an unexpected bonus and we enjoyed the night. Someone else staying though complained of the noise (even though on arrival they were told of the event and... More

Spent 7 nights on the road last week. Stayed in hotels and B and Bs from the Lake District to the Highlands with my wife. Of the 7 nights the Derby Arms was the final night and is ranked the lowest of my 7 nights. Why... was given wrong room on arrival, changed to correct room. The room was £70... More

Very friendly staff, good service, nice room. Food was great and draught beer was well kept. Good value and a tasty breakfast but only instant coffee is on offer. Will stay there again when back in the lakes.

Great room, good shower, really nice pub with a fire and good beer. Food was excellent-a good choice of specials and menu. There was a separate dining room as well as eating in the bar. Breakfast wash especially good.

We had spent a day out in the Lakes and were looking for somewhere to eat when we came across the Derby Arms by the A590. The staff were very friendly and quickly took our order. The meals were freshly cooked and of excellent value. This pub is well worth a visit if you are in the area and it... More
