We were told on booking the room over the phone that a table would be reserved for us as we were staying at hotel. When we booked in it had not been done and were assured that we would have a booked table that night. Later someone knocked on bedroom door to find out who we were! When we went... More

Good Morning, I am sorry that your brother-in-law and his wife did not enjoy their stay here - given the nature and character of the building, it is perhaps the case that the furnishings in the room were not up to your expectations, for which I can only apologise. As specified throughout, a full Continental Breakfast is served Monday-Friday mornings,... More

We needed a stop mid-way between Oban and Chichester and this was perfect. Very easy to find and some lovely countryside in which to unwind after 5 hours on the road. The room was excellent, albeit, as previously mentioned, with limited TV channels. Very friendly staff and great food. There was a band playing from 9-11pm, but that didn't trouble... More

I have visited the Derby Arms a few times, so I knew roughly what I was getting when I booked. The pub is in a great location for walkers in the Lakes. It's warm, friendly and what I'd call a Traditional English proper pub. It's very homely and well set up. The staff are brilliant and friendly and make you... More

We were looking for something not too far from the Motor Museum where we were meeting some friends and being the geographically impaired one I had to prove I was up to the challenge! Him indoors was very impressed! The room was lovely and very clean, good beer, good food and very friendly staff. It felt like a "proper" pub... More

The Derby Arms is a lovely place to stay. The staff are very welcoming, the rooms are comfortable, the food is good - and you can bring your dog with you - although I didn't realise that in time. The location is brilliant. I would recommend the Derby Arms to those wanting a friendly, cozey environment and not an ultramodern... More

Rooms were top quality. The only complaint we had were that the TV didn't work as some weather had brought the aerial down a 'week' earlier. So no world cup! Other than that excellent food service and I would stay again

Our children were taking part in the Great North Swim and we booked this at the last minute and we were really pleased that we did. It was a 15 minute drive to the start of the race, good location. The room was lovely, clean and the shower was good. The staff were pleasant and there was a good atmosphere... More

We chose this due to price and location (needed to be on the motorway south early on the Sunday), and were pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere, decor and surroundings of the pub. The room itself was very peaceful and comfortable with a roll-top bath in the big bathroom. It was very clean except for some small stains on one of... More
