We only spent one night at Beech Hill House after travelling up from Morecambe. We had room 1 and it was large and spacious with some very thoughtful touches such as the sherry and fridge and it felt like a home rather than a chain hotel place. Breakfast is fantastic and very very tasty with a good selection of food... More

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and found our bed and breakfast ‘homely’, which is the way we like it to be, and hope we can have the pleasure of welcoming you both here again. There really was no need to feel stressed over the greyhounds we are fostering coming to see you on the balcony, they are... More

Stayed here for the weekend, very welcoming, room was of a good size, which was great because we took our greyhound with us (dogs are very welcome), and she takes up a bit of space. The room was clean, and had everything you could need for a few nights stay. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice. it is in... More

Just recently returned from a 3 night break at the Beech Hill House. Our hosts Jenny and Stuart (chief cook & bottlewasher) were very welcoming and helpful. Our room 1 was perfect and very clean and had the addition of a patio and small private garden and entrance. We had the added bonus of seeing the owners greyhounds and several... More

Just got back today and we were both so impressed we had to share our delight straight away. The room was a wonderful size, very clean and all the little extras such as sherry, chocolates were wonderful! Even better was the little goody tray provided for our dogs, who we also brought along. We were made to feel very welcome... More

This was a one night stay between visiting our holiday home at Flookburough and our stay at Windemere and found by my partner looking on line at Laterooms.com and then looking on here. We were pleasantly greeted by Jenny who showed us to our room. I have never seen so many little 'extras' ranging from a sewing kit to a... More

We were welcomed by Jenny on Friday evening who showed us to our room. Lovely little touches like a welcome glass of sherry and a DVD and book library in each room. We walked 200 yards down the road to the Derby Arms which is a lovely pub with cosy decor. We had a lovely evening (and one too many... More

Friday afternoon my wife and I decided to get in the car and disappear for the night and we settled on the Lake District. As usual, we looked for some cheap and cheerful B&B in the right general area and we settled on this one, phoned up and booked the last room. The lady we spoke to was extremely pleasant... More
