I was a bit worried this place would be a bit stodgy( judging by some of the pictures I saw ) but my fears were unjustified. From the moment we checked in ( and were offered a couple of glasses of their very good Muscadet fresh from the ice bucket) we could not have been happier. The staff are attractive and... More

This could be an excellent hotel but a number of things are just not good enough and our visit was a bit disappointing. We had the suite and had afternoon tea one day and a glass of wine before dinner in the room..we came back after dinner and no one had bothered to collect the tea stuff or the wine... More

My wife and I are currently enjoying a wonderful stay in this tranquil and serene castle setting. The location is great, the grounds beautiful, the staff ridiculously friendly and attentive, the food delicious and the room lovely. It's a shame that they don't have a great spa, but it's not too much of an issue as with the free bike... More

An immaculate hotel in beautiful surroundings. Great location in the heart of Tokai country, so great for wine-lovers. Rooms spacious and very comfortable and service of a high order. My wife and I booked a wine tasting with the vineyard's own winemaster, which was both informative and good value. Best of all was the dinner which really was quite outstanding,... More

We spent a lovely autumn weekend in the Castle, and we really felt like royals. However, this is really not my style of architecture or decoration, I have to admit it was exquisite and I was still charmed. The rooms were spacious and beautiful, the perfectly manicured garden and the vineyards were glittering the autumn lights, the staff and the... More

We have just spent three days at wonderful Grof Degenfeld at Tokai. We were three couples who stayed there to find out more about the famous Tokai sweet wine. The hotel, which has its own vineyard, is a wonderful, small hotel. Beautiful rooms, diningroom and lounge. Excellent service and food. A bit limited winelist, but quickly forgotten. Situated in a... We stayed for only one night (15th September) but thoroughly enjoyed the hotel, the very friendly staff and above all the exceptional dinner. There was hardly a fault to be found except that the large outdoor swimming pool is not heated. Walks in the surrounding vineyards were delightful.

Setting in lovely landscape. The rooms are spacious, beutiful park in midst wineyards. Fine outdoor pool and everything is well maintained and clean. The breakfast is a tad disappointing. The restaurant serves quality food but we have seen better. Service is attentive and all staff is helpful and very friendly. Great atmosphere. We would return because of the hotel and... More

Place and location very good, wines very good, outdoor swimming pool, staff good but breakfast is standard 2* hotel, 9.30 there were no bread, no meat, on the tables menu with warm orders but nobody from staff asked about it !!!!!! Just one staff lady taking plates - it is not 4* hotel !!!!!
